My wife and I were on a roadtrip coming from Yosemite when we realized that we had problems with our indicator. I am so glad we found this Auto Repair. They quickly found out what was wrong and fixed it immediately.
Very thankful that we could continue our roadtrip safely because of Lou's!

What a fantastic place! Last week while traveling from Yosemite to head home I had an issue with a tire. The staff was beyond amazing and took care of my tire very fast and got me safely back on the road. I can't thank these people enough. They were so nice and did a great job!

My mom has been going to Lou’s for years. I’ve always been told he is rude and has a personality of a rock. Lou recommended that my mom take her car to Midas in Merced so she did when she told Lou about it. He said that he would never send anybody to that place and told her he doesn’t remember telling her that. The other day she called him to set an appointment to have her oil changed and her air conditioning recharged and asked if he could do all of that at the same time and he said yes. The next day she took her car there and he told her that he could not recharge her air conditioning that she need to set an appointment and when she told him what he had told her on the phone, he said he did not say it and then she asked what it would cost to recharge her air conditioning and told her depends on the on what car you have which she was standing in front of at the time and knows her car. My mom is 87 and has a hard time getting around, unbelievable!

Very hard to get ahold of, rude, and will damage your car then blame it on you!!
Over the phone I gave them a list of what needed to be done and I even reminded them of what I needed- the only thing I got instead was an oil change and new tires. That wasn’t even the worst part, my car was literally pristine but when I got it back I come to find they dented my hood ( a pretty big dent). When I called them and told them about it they got really really mad over the phone and said they couldn’t have done it and I must’ve hit something. The dent isn’t even in a place where you can hit! Didn’t even offer a free oil change in the future for it- just argued with me then hung up. I wouldn’t recommend giving this place your business if you value your car or mental health.

Much respect and gratitude to Lou ?
My car was overheating when I pulled into Yoesmite. I was worried about the engine as I was leaving the park, as I had a long driving journey ahead.
Lou was the only mechanic in town to answer my call on first ring. He had a full schedule, but made time to look over my vehicle as soon as I pulled in. He did an analysis and gave some expert tips, and got me on my way in minutes. I tried to slip him a $10 for his time, but he wouldn’t even take it.

It was fast and easy. No sales pressure you tell Lou what you need done and in my case it was my annual oil change. Lou is very straight forward and honest. Lou smiles a little to much. But he takes his warmth with him wherever he goes now.

Bought tires and a few months later was told I would need to replace all of them. When I explained to the manager that I had purchased them not that long ago, he told me that there was no warranty and I would have to pay double then what I had originally paid. They didn't even last a season! They failed to tell me that something was wrong with my catalytic converter, instead it was a fuse that kept turning my check engine light on. But the icing on all this is having my husband under "black (his name)" in the computer. Using my husband's race as part of his name is very disappointing. It's all over our paperwork and it's very unsettling.
