When I'm craving Mexican food, I come here. The restaurant is super cozy and the staff is great. I always order the wine margaritas! The pitcher is such a good deal! Less than $15!

Love this place. I am almost 38 years old and my family has eaten at La Milpa since I was about 11. The people are all the same and the food is consistently tasty and authentic. I definitely recommend La Milpa as the top family restaurant in Milpitas.

We were in the area for the weekend and was craving for Mexican Food. I saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it out. First of all, the thing that stood out most was their service. We were immediately seated upon entering and given menus to peruse over. The decor had a Mexican woodsy theme to it. There were rows of tables and the place was packed at the time.
Our waitress was very friendly and gave us some complimentary chips and salsa. Their chips was light and cripsy without being oily and their salsa was delicious! It has the perfect amount of spice to it. There were 4 people in our party. I ordered the Caldo de Res, which is a beef soup with a small corn cob, cabbage, potatoes, greens, and carrots. The soup was perfect. I enjoyed the dish. My fiance had the large 3-item combo with a shredded beef burrito, taco, and a chicken enchilada. He too enjoyed his meal. The other two in our party ordered a (humongous) large burrito with beef. It looked like it had everything in it. They struggled to finish the dish but also found it to be delicious. We ordered 2 flans for dessert. Those were also delicious! The food wasn't out of this world. It's what you would find at a typical Mexican restaurant but the service was exceptional! It was also a decent restaurant to sit and enjoy your food with great company.

We came here for dinner about 40 minutes before they closed on a Tuesday. This restaurant was in a plaza where Orchard Supply was along with a few other restaurants so plenty of parking spots. Ever since I came back from my business trip and tried machaca in El Paso, TX, I have been trying to search for an equivalent machaca plate.
We both ordered the Machaca ($14.50) and the Burrito de Carne Asada ($8.95). First off, that was a ton of food, but I was planning ahead to eat in between my conference calls the next day while working. The chips and salsa were not bad but I didn't want to fill up on chips. I was saving room for the Machaca. That came out a few minutes later and the plate was pretty big.
The Machaca tasted great with everything combined together in the tortilla. It was definitely enough for one person with a big appetite or probably a split between two people who both don't eat THAT much. The Burrito de Carne Asada was good and the meat had a different flavor versus other places that had carne asada. It was probably more of the flavor, but it was still good. It had lettuce and a slice of a tomato which I thought was more to just have something on the plate other than a burrito.
Get the Machaca and enjoy! Good Mexican food from what I've tried so far.

Complimentary chips? I'm sold! I really loved the food and ambiance of this Mexican restaurant! The wooden chairs, decor, really give it a comfy vibe, nice enough to bring the whole family. Service is pretty quick for both times that I've been here.
The menu is quite expansive, and they even do breakfast entrees which is available all day. For some reason, I've always gotten a hankering for the breakfast dishes. I've tried the Papas con Chorizo plate which is eggs, potato, chorizo meat and a side of refried beans and your choice or corn or flour tortillas. The portion is huge and filled me to the brim. I've also tried the Machaca which is shredded beef with eggs, onions, bell peppers, and sides of rice u0026 beans, and your choice of tortillas as well. The menu also indicated that any of the breakfast dishes can be made into a burrito. Everything I've had has been super flavorful, and man the chips are great. I even used them to dip my refried beans. So much delicious carbiness, be prepared to come hungry!
