Customer service is very bad. Bank is closed when it’s supposed to be open and posted hours say it’s to be open. Drive through is almost always closed. Then when you go inside the line is looong with only one teller open. The employees seem like they’re hiding out in the back then come slinking in from behind a door as if no one’s been waiting for over 20 minutes. Employees are always new, so to me that shows management is lacking. Besides the Umpqua banker in Marin county involved in the ponzi scheme this bank does not have good quality control or customer service. We are moving our account after unsatisfactory discussions with our banker. Stay away from this bank.

Sama the girl at the drive thru has been rude to me, the first time my receipts were blown away in the wind she didn't offer to give me copies and just closed her window. the second time she refused to give me change and told me to go down to my car to receive the service inside the bank, but if I have not got out of my car from the beginning That does not make you think that it is because I can not get out of my car? She is a lousy and rude person.

My mother passed away in May, and as the successor trustee of my parents' trust, I have had total knowledge of my mother's financial situation since my father passed in 2014, including knowledge of her Umpqua Bank accounts. Earlier in June, Umpqua's Soscol Branch had rejected my mother's regular royalty deposit, and I'd received a telephone call from that company informing me of the rejection. Planning to close out her checking account and CD at Umpqua, I was required to make an appointment to see a qualified Umpqua representative, which I did. When I arrived for my 11:00 a.m. appointment, I waited patiently for the representative to take customers from the teller line before she honored my appointment. When she finally took me to the back office for our meeting, I provided copies of the pertinent pages of my parents' trust, both my father's and mother's death certificates, the EIN number, and my Certification of Trust as the successor trustee. She also wanted to see my driver license, which I also provided. She then inquired as to why I was there, and I told her I was there to close out my mother's checking account and CD and move the funds into the estate's trust account at another bank. I also told the representative that my mother's regular royalty deposit had been rejected this month, and she never even bothered to respond to that statement. The representative then tried to pull up my Mom's checking account and CD and after a few attempts told me that she could only find my own accounts as well as my joint checking account with my mother and "no other accounts." I responded, "That is impossible, as my father set them up years and years ago, and I helped my mother get both accounts titled into her name under the trust after my father died." The representative was unimpressed and dismissive of me, and she refused to look further saying she'd done all she could. It was obvious that she did not believe my mother had those two accounts at Umpqua, and despite the fact that I told her the accounts totalled well over six figures, she said that she would not check further until I went to my mother's home and returned with documentation showing both account numbers. She had no empathy or concern for me whatsoever. As I left she said, "Well, if she has accounts here, at least they are FDIC insured." Meanwhile, I was left to consider the possibility that my mother had been defrauded out of six figures, and when I telephoned Umpqua's telephone assistance line to report what had just happened during my appointment, they also refused to tell me whether the accounts existed. When I returned to Umpqua's Soscol Branch, I had to wait 30 minutes for the bank to be opened up again after their lunch break, and when I finally was let into the bank to see the same representative, armed with my mother's 1099 for 2021, she responded, "So, you want me to 'research' these accounts?" I said, "No, I want you to look up those account numbers and tell me whether they still exist or not." She left and made a copy of my Mom's 1099, came back, looked up the accounts and then attempted to excuse her unhelpful conduct toward me by saying that she couldn't find the accounts earlier because the accounts had been opened so long ago that "we did not obtain your mother's social security number." Can you imagine a bank not being able to find its own customer's accounts? She then asked me what I wanted her to do, and I said, "I want you to close the accounts so I can move the funds into the estate account." She never even attempted to apologize for her earlier, rude, thoughtless failure to telephone Umpqua's back office to ask for assistance in locating my mother's accounts in a manner that would ordinarily be considered the appropriate treatment of a good customer. As you can imagine, I shortly will be closing all four of my own Umpqua accounts a

This bank acts like they are doing you a favor by letting you withdraw the money you worked hard for! This is a high school level institution! They act as if they are giving you allowance! Bs! Take control of your money and bank elsewhere! This is a bank that will allow you to deposit $2000 cash in atm,but then only let you have $200 available instantly after that transaction! Only bank i had to close the account after 10yrs plus because of difficulty making a deposit in my own freaking account! You been warned! Worlds est bannk

Everyone is so nice and professional. For a large bank there is a small town feeling. I highly recommend Umqua Bank. Thank you to everyone who works there!

The credit card they sell is NOT their credit card. It's an outsourced piece of garbage that isn't connected to their system, so you can't check balance or pay it off from your account. I'm really, really pissed off that after spending days returning to set up several accounts, move funds over and set up investments, I find out about the credit card problem. They shouldn't be selling a card that isn't theirs. Nobody should and I'm tired of all banks that do this. I thought they were different, but they are not. More fun...although you set up the card at their bank you can't cancel it from there. This alone renders this back a complete waste of space.

Since closing the branch near Home Depot, this is now the nearest branch to south Napa businesses. I have walked out twice due to long wait times, and will go out of my way to avoid this branch. Tellers are stellar, so I fault management.

Customer service 800 number never picks up. Cannot transfer funds to external account. They introduce themselves on the phone as "The world's greatest bank." I literally told them to stop doing that, because they are not even close. Every now and then I will get an instruction from their app to call their 800 number. That 800 number never picks up. I just wait and wait and wait on hold. Other banks have like a 30 second wait. I also walked in the other day and asked to transfer money to an external account. They told me that was not possible. ??? Every other bank in the world allows external transfers, but somehow Umpqua does not? I only joined because a friend worked there and I wanted to help him out. Go with one of the big chains, they have better features and service.

Don't deposit a large personal check with this bank and expect to have access to it within a business day or two. Twice in the last six months I've deposited a check over $3,000 and both times Umpqua has put a hold on it. This most recent time I had bills to pay immediately and the hold caused me to bounce a check and get charge $35 for an overdraft. I'd look elsewhere for your banking needs.

This bank is HORRIBLE in my opinion and has some very sketchy practices. My landlord has an account with this bank and deposited my rent check of $1400. The Umpqua teller somehow entered $2400 and withdrew an EXTRA THOUSAND DOLLARS from my account. They said that they would fix the error within 48 hours and return my money. A whole month has passed and they still have not returned my money!!! The customer service has been enfuriating and they seem to have no idea where my money is!! I would NEVER EVER let this bank handle my money and I strongly advise anyone looking for a bank to look elsewhere. I am not usually one to write negative reviews, but I want to save others the grief of dealing with this shady institution.
