Trading with a trusted account manager is what can make your dreams come through. For me Mrs Mariel Ramsey has the best trading strategies to win. I never believed on any post recommending online trading until I gave a try and the outcome was great for me. If you want an old school grocery store with an old school butcher department. This is it . The butcher shop is THE BEST part of the store! They are extremely knowledgeable about what they are doing, very friendly, and Shasta have answers for any questions you have. And if they don't have it, they'll order it!

We came here for some supplies as we are camping in the area. This place sells everything you can think of. The meat department is packed and the butcher's know what they are doing. The staff was nice and acted professionally. We were able to get everything we were looking for and a few things we didn't, but picked up anyway.

I purchased six hamburger buns and when I got them home found two of them broken. Took them back next day and was told by manager that I was lieing and that the buns were not damaged when I boutht them. And he refused to make it right.

Our favorite grocery store. Excellent butcher, great deli, good general selection of groceries. Also a nice local feeling place. They have a lot of interesting specialty and local items hidden away here and there; Bubba's Bagels, Sierra Sweets toffee. Finally motivated to write a review by an experience I just had where some equipment malfunctioned and I got overcharged. I noticed the problem and went back in and the manager handed me a cash refund on the spot, no hassle, no paperwork, just "yes we made a mistake let me fix it". I appreciate that sort of trust and honest business.

Very sad to see people wandering without masks. Like no where to be seen. And the bagger had a mask below his nose.

I have no problem with the market itself, quality of produce and meat/butcher counter is good. My complaint is the rude, arrogant checker at the Nevada City store ("Tom"?). This is the 2nd time I've been in his line and both times he was very unfriendly. I wrote it off the first time to "maybe he's having a rough day" but I think he just shouldn't be working in a job situation where he deals with the public. Unlike every other store in the area where cashiers and baggers go out of their way to say hi, thanks, have a good day, etc., he doesn't acknowledge the customer in any way. This time around I bought a nice prime rib and veggies/dinner makings for Christmas which this moron proceeded to roll/bounce down the counter towards the bagger. (The roast was unwrapped/packaging torn when I took, it out of the bag at home and a few other items were bruised and mushy.) I left the store and then noticed that he hadn't given me a receipt. When I returned and asked him if he gave me a receipt (thinking it could be at the bottom of one of the bags) he said "you didn't ask for a receipt" in a rude tone. I said that I didn't know I needed to ask for one and it seemed like he felt it was common knowledge by the way he reacted. Apparently my asking for a receipt was causing him a great deal of effort, more rudeness towards me at that point along with condescending attitude towards the bagger. I like to support the "neighborhood" businesses but I think in this case I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

FYI: for all of you who keep saying this is a great family owned market. It is a employee owned market. The employees bought it several years ago.

I forgot to mention, the presumably gay white guy with ear piercings and a bad attitude deliberately coughed on me when I leaned over to put my groceries on the belt. I understand if you don't like me because I'm cut from a different cloth from you, but coughing on people during a pandemic is a serious felony. I have a feeling that this guy has nothing to lose and going to prison might actually be an upgrade to his current miserable existence. This place has really gone downhill, just like the rest of America, especially California. I wish they had a self-checkout so I could avoid scumbags like this. Most of the other employees are perfectly fine, but this guy is such a lowlife, and despite how Jeff Bezos is, I think I will buy everything online from now on.

We are appalled at the number of people with no masks and no respect for social distancing in your stores. Checkout person said you don’t enforce mask policy because of fear of violence. Hire some off duty cops and save our lives. 70s age customers. Afraid we won’t be coming in until you change your environment. Too bad because you are good at lot of things vs your COMPETITORS.

Locally owned. Always friendly service. Great selection. Both stores are great! I've been shopping at SPD since I first moved here in the late 70's.
