The staff are friendly and helpful. Not so many options and lacking the variety of their other spots.

BEST banana republic I've ever been to in my life ! If you want to make sure to have that "Newport" look. This is the store. Banana Republic brings its "A" game. No other BR location can beat this store. Between the home goods, clothing & other merch..... the entire Corona Del Mar / Newport Beach lifestyle is represented here.

I only come to this Banana Republic location due to the location being in front of the ocean area and having friendly, great customer service that few of the staff members gave me. I greatly appreciate the wonderful and awesome suggestions and service that Winnie gave as she was fully helpful in every way. Maria or Marie was also great along with the manager that was on duty. Jason, your team members especially Winnie was outstanding! She is very professional, friendly, has a great taste in fashion as I went there to get a few items for an upcoming interview. Winnie provided great suggestions and great customer service. I felt that few of the other staff members were kind of rude and unprofessional, but Winnie stepped in and took over. I will definitely go back and continue to shop there because Winnie was fabulous! Thank you Banana Republic and especially Winnie!

The people are very geared to only one group of culture shoppers. There are a few Persian employees that only cater From their nationality alienating the other customers . I was there for instance and I don't speak Persian and a few ladies were at the register speaking only Persian when they could well speak english to make all customers feel welcomed. I told the manager and she didn't do anything about it. So I don't shop there anymore. Is very rude!! I am not going to feel alienated in my own country .

Rude and judgemental customer service. The associate I spoke with said that they don't allow exchanges if the item was bought at a different Banana Republic location (mine was from a Banana in LA); however, when I went to the South Coast Plaza location, they gladly helped me with the exchange and said that there is no policy that states you can't make exchanges of items bought from different locations. It was clear the associate at the Newport location was simply trying to dismiss me and not give me the time of day for some reason.

Some of the staff seem to think they’re better than some of the people that shop there. Which is hilarious because without that employee discount they couldn’t afford to shop there themselves or actually live in Newport. But don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself.

The tall guy that works there is super pompous and asked me "what made you pick this location?" after telling me he couldn't process my return because I bought my pants from another store (lol). I really wish I remembered his name so I could name drop and put him on blast but he's literally the only tall guy with glasses that works there. Get off your high horse and remember you work for a clothing store in a city you probably can't afford to live in anyways.

With many companies scaling back their storefronts it's always a shame to lose a favorite store that's relatively closer to home. In our case it was the closure of the store at Victoria Gardens that's most felt. Sure, there are outlets in Redlands, Cabazon, and Ontario Mills, but when it comes to service, selection, and fresh styles, nothing beats a Frontline store. This is my review of my favorite Banana Republic store, beautifully situated on the Newport Coast above the Crystal Cove Seashore. I've lost count of how many years I've shopped here, possibly since 2014? A long time and I've kept my wardrobe updated and fresh, between here and John Varvatos. BR is much cheaper though. Employees have generally been friendly and helpful, there's one lady we've noticed for years who we like a lot. She's so sweet and kind. That, to me, is a good sign that the company provides a stable environment for someone to work in for a long time. Finally, walking in for periodic sales is a pleasant surprise. Last time I ended up with three ultra-soft henleys that had just come from the back. Sometimes you strike it hot!
