Over the years, Newport Beach's Nordstrom has seemed up, down, and all around to me...but still a good place to go. I've experienced great, sweet, apathetic, and mean service here. When I complained to management years ago about a particularly bad experience with a salesperson, the representative listened to me. She was empathic, a good listener, and reassuring. She admitted that the salesperson was sarcastic and told me she would be retrained. In addition to committing to resolving the issue for future customers, she thanked me profusely. My call with her convinced me management cares about their customers. Other good sides of this Nordstrom are the beauty department. I've had very good experiences purchasing here. Perhaps they weren't apathetic because they had that salesperson sixth sense of knowing I wanted to buy, and might not be a "looky-loo". For the salesperson in apparel who seemed ho-hum about ringing me up; well, it could have been for a thousand reasons. I've seen on the news stories about labor shortages, and if they are short staffed here, the lack of enthusiasm makes sense. In any case, the transaction was quick and efficient, leaving me with more time at Fashion Island. I think for the times we are in, the store is doing a good job.

NORDSTROM Fashion Island has continued to go downhill, with the quality of the merchandise and the quality of people they're hiring. There is NO more customer service or assistance. Their employees are extremely rude and have a difficult time even processing a credit card Most clearly don't want to be there and demonstrate a great dislike for the local clientele that patronage the store routinely. The management is never available because of cutbacks. Be prepared to feel hostility from some new hires, which Nordstrom seems to be so proud of. Sadly I think it's on a continuous downfall and not worth the frustration or reminder that at one time, it was a fantastic store with fantastic customer service. C. Bev 09-21

Racial discrimination at its finest. I was next in line at the women's section to pay and the lady at the cashier asked me if I was there for a return. Why would she assume that? She them proceeded to suggest that I go to a different register because she was going to help another white customer that came after me and was waiting beside the counter. The customer even acknowledged that we were there before her. So, my daughter and I just decided to go to another register who wanted us to pay at another register since she couldn't figure out how to adjust the sale price. The young man at the kid's shoe department was very helpful though as well as the lady working the Sugarfina register.

The worst Nordstrom !!! Mona the store manager is rude beyond belief & usless as a manager! i have been treated better @ target. what a sad day realizing how this location has spiraled downwards. i left never wanting to return! i am completely disappointed & disgusted.

This store is one of my favorites! I work the street near the new local actually but if I need my items right away I'll buy online and pick up in store or if I have time to spare I go into the store and look for the items. Always have a great time in the departments I shop in. It's a shame Karen is no longer at the Clinique counter but she's still a message away through the Nordstrom app so it's no biggie :) everyone is so nice but she was my go to sales person!

If you're looking for the most professional and amazing salesperson in Nordstrom Fashion Island, I hope recommend Alana to go for any inquiries!!! She's really knowledgeable and I had the best experience of shopping with her and plus she spoiled me a lot!!!

Do not buy online and pick up at this Fashion Island Nordstrom store. They will mess up and give your order to wrong people. Horrible. I ordered a pair of glasses and I waited for 6 hours and no one called me.. I had to call them and the they told me the logistics team messed up my order and gave to someone else. I talked to 2 store department managers Anthony and Tommy and they are at horrible customer service. I have been long long customer with Nordstrom and this experience is awful. So disappointed PLEASE DO NOT PLACE ANY ORDER AT THIS STORE . Your orders will be lost....

Nordstrom Newport Beach is not the place to buy make-up! They do a terrible job with inventory control (hence I have received much of my make-up via USPS or UPS because the store needs to order and send to me), its hard to find anyone to help you and they do not stand by their products. I bought the Lancome Definicils waterproof mascara and artliner and now have indelible black stains on two pairs of white pants! I complained to the acting store manger (Arlene), store manager (Terry Penrod) and Regional Manager (Michelle Korb). Michelle said I am the first to complain. I find that hard to believe! I expect that others have experienced permanent clothing stains from these products! If you have, please let Michelle know. Her number is (714) 582-6630.

This is our favorite lunch spot! My friends and I have made it a weekly tradition now. We really, really miss the truffle tater tots. Can you please bring those back?

Not a single employee asked if I needed help or tried to assist while shopping today. This has been going on for years. This is the third time I've tried to shop this location in three years and it's always the same poor service and cannot find sizes on the clothes that are out.

After spending about $4k in the mens dept. I continue to be harrassed by the older sales gentlemen that works behind the counter. Yesterday he was in the pickup section wearing a sweatshirt looking like he just rolled out of bed. The quality of this store is so bad, called the store manager Terry, left a message and havent received a call back. There are many nice places to visit at Fashion Island where they will treat you right, without being rude and racist, avoid Nordstrom.

Women's bathrooms on the lower level are disgusting - they are filthy and without TP and seat covers. This is by far worst that I have ever seen at a Nordstrom's, which usually have clean restrooms. Whoever is in charge should be fired immediately. I will avoid this store.

Joke. Still working but No inventory better shopping online. Took millions in Paycheck Protection Loans at Covid although company said did not need $$ AND STILL LAID OFF TOP MANAGERS and lied to staff about hours n coming back after temporary closure. Collections calls you daily of late on cc payment.

This store is waaay too hot. All of the employees are sweating and customers have made comments how hot it is. The poor guys in shoes were literally dripping sweat. How do they expect us to try things on when its too hot? Horrible

Cosmetics Dept. Review only: David in Cosmetics is rude: I've had the displeasure twice, months apart, of having to deal with David in the cosmetics area. At best, he is curt. At worst, downright rude, even nasty. The first time I encountered him, I complained to another cosmetics employee and she apologized for his snippy, "I've no time for you" attitude. I got the impression, however, that he has seniority in the department. The next time, I went out of my way to avoid David but because he works in the YSL area, I had no choice. I was polite. Again. He was not polite. Again. I asked if a certain product, one recently introduced to the Top Secrets line, had gotten any feedback or if he knew anything about it. His response: "I have not used the product." I asked for a sample of it which he did get for me but afterward he turned his back on me and walked away. There were no other customers. He simply me left there with my mouth open, literally still talking about YSL products; clearly he did not want to converse with me. Wow. I had come in to purchase a particular product, so I simply left and bought it at Neiman Marcus, where the service was warm and friendly.
