Great food and great people. The perfect spot to rest and re-energize with a drink and fantastic food that will satisfy your cravings.

I don't like eating in the bar. It's so loud you can't have a conversation without shouting. It's not charming like the restaurant was. Also, without the family style dining, there really isn't anything special about this place now.

We're locals and Negris is part of our family tradition! All minestrone soup and meat ravioli we eat elsewhere is critiqued against Negri's, they are the best. We were caught off guard last night when the main dining room (with its checkered table cloths, ball lights and metal rolling carts that deliver your dinner) is reserved now only for 15+ parties, and eating in the bar dining room was different for us... but within minutes we enjoyed the same lovely, genuine hospitality from the family, and the food was to die for! Why don't we go more often?...we always say with our overfilled bellies as we drive home.Kid-friendliness: Loud enough kids can be themselves... two pre-teens hung out at the fireplace while their parents enjoyed dinner. Family place

We started with Watermelon Margaritas and Burrata, loved the pasta dishes; Ravioli, Prawns with Angel Hair and Gnocchi with the Seghesio Zinfandel and finished with Tiramisu. It was a delicious dinner and my in-laws were impressed.

The food was excellent! Service seemed slower than normal and I wish they would have opened the other side of the restaurant because the small area that is opened got so busy quickly and then it got super loud, you really couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you. But if you’re looking for great pizza and pasta this is a great place to go!!

Ate the homemade Ravioli and it was delicious. Service was great at first; but did not see server until well after our food was delivered by kitchen staff. Our waters were empty and we had to wait on our check.

This is my 2nd time eating here and the 1st time was before covid. It was pretty good before covid with a variety of dishes but now there is a limited menu (pasta, pizza). They also closed the main dining room and now you have to eat in the bar area. It was loud and noisy. Tables were spaced out which is good. The food came out slowly. We ordered garlic bread and lasagna and chicken picatta. I thought we would get our garlic bread first but no. It came out with the meal. I also noticed we ordered before one table and they got their food before us. I thought it maybe because they got pasta which is faster to make. The lasagna was a little too meaty, the chicken picatta was ok. The garlic bread was good though.I do not think we will be returning. We were a disappointed in the meal.

Negris used to be my favorite restaurant, but they just aren't what they used to be . Now that they don't do family style it's not really worth eating there. The restaurant is closed so you eat in the bar on uncomfortable bar stools the service wasn't very good at all and the food used to be better quality. It's unfortunate that such a great restaurant has gone down hill so much since COVID

Our friends took us there, for a great dinner experience. Everything was exceptional, the drinks, the food the service. We were having such a great time we closed the place. The staff was very gracious about us hang out. We'll looking forward to trying lunch.

I've been eating here for 20* years. First time back post pandemic. They no longer are doing family style meals. Which is kinda sad. But I do really appreciate that they added some craft cocktails which are a nice addition. The fontina fondue was yummy. Topped with crispy pancetta and served with crostini. It could have used some acid for balance. Quite rich. The Caesar salad was enough for two. They should mention that. It's $12,25 and that seemed high, but if you realize it serves 2-3 easily. Their Caesar dressing is one of the best I've ever had. The chicken piccata over angel hair is always, always perfection. The short rib and marinara over rigatoni was a special tonight and my husband INHALED it. The chocolate pot de Creme was fabulous. Dark and rich, topped with real whip cream and these chocolate crunchy pearls- it was a perfect meal ender and again, large enough to share. So the menu is mostly the same, but some great new additions. I don't mind the family style being gone, because we got to enjoy what we liked and I was very happy with that. I didn't have the ravioli tonight, but have eaten it over the last 20 years at least 30-40 times. Rich meaty flavor, great sauce, fresh delicate pasta. It's all the things you want a ravioli to be.

This was a pretty big disappointment after hearing about the great Italian family style dinners of Occidental. We are new residents of Forestville and have been continually impressed with pretty much every meal we've had out here until this one, which absolutely does not live up to the hype. First off, it isn't family style and although this page said Negris was opened, that whole side of the building was closed and the only service was in Joe's bar, which is just a sterile concrete floored room with a couple TVs on the wall. Super loud and not particularly inviting. It's just super greasy bar food with some Italian themed items. The food, service and staff all totally lacked any real quality or complexity. Putting a stick of butter into a bunch of frozen ingredients does not make it good or Italian. Pizza, shrimp and polenta app, prawn pasta, salads, were all super plain yet insanely greasy. Nothing to write home about. There is significantly better eating to be done in just about every town in Sonoma co. Seems like we missed the glory days here based on our experience and the other recent reviews.
