I walked in for a mani pedi after getting an IV drip down the street. Literally just googled for nail spas and this was the second place I checked.
My nail tech was easy to communicate with and even helped me decide on colors and style. I ended up doing a modified French with shades of green and blue which came out perfect (and turned out to be black light reactive which delighted my inner party kid lol).
I was impressed at how skillfully she painted the tips. She got it right the first time and didn’t need to go back with acetone to fix it like they often do. The whole thing was anxiety free and my nails/cuticles still look perfect after 2 weeks. Usually my cuticles are a hot mess within a day or two or I have to file them to straighten out sloppy work.
Even though there are over a dozen nail salons within walking distance to my house, I’ll be making the drive over to Montclair for this place!

I had the best experience at this nail salon! The vibe was so calm and welcoming, no rush, no pressure, just pure relaxation. The staff took their time, paid attention to every little detail, and made me feel completely at ease from start to finish.
I had great service without breaking the bank. Affordable pricing with luxury-level care. I walked out feeling pampered and polished literally and figuratively. I highly recommend Avalon if you're looking for a chill, high-quality nail spot that doesn’t overcharge.

Followed Kim here after months of trying to find someone who does nails as good, but no luck. I’ve been a customer of Kim’s for years when she was in San Leandro and after months of trying other locations, I’ve decided it’s worth it to follow Kim to her new location and I am glad I did! The area is beautiful with lots of shops and restaurants and this salon has so many options beyond just nails. Kim’s work is worth the extra drive due to how well my nails last and the quality of work. I’ve never been disappointed.

Amazing Experience!!! Kim is the best. I'm so glad I found her again. Nails and designs are always on point. Top notch service, upscale atmosphere, simply amazing. Definitely recommend Kim at Avalon if you want excellent service and pampering - this is the place to go!!

Don't bother making an appointment with Nara because she won't honor it. Made an appointment on 2-23 for a lash tint at 4:30 pm on 3-15. Late in the afternoon 3-14 she texted me to see if I could come in the morning instead. It was last minute but I managed to rearrange my entire day's schedule to accommodate her and agreed upon a 10 am appointment. Then at 8:30 am same day she texted me to say she had to move it to 11 am. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I had arranged a sitter and moved my work schedule around. Now I will go on my vacation without my lashes tinted, not a big deal, but still. Very frustrated with the complete lack of customer service provided by this establishment and needless to say I won't use them for any other service in the future.

I love my haircut, Quynn. I've lived in the Bay Area for 10 years now and was always so disappointed with any cut i have gotten previously. It seemed no one in the Bay Area that I have gone to knew how to cut longer layers for thick, fine hair. You did an amazing job and I have finally found the hairdresser I have been trying to find! Thank you for knowing how to texturize and cut my hair. I'll happily be back. Even if I live over an hours drive away! You are totally worth it. Quynn is not pushy, she suggests things, but works great with what you want and need. I really am so happy I found you!

Quynn is simply the best hairdresser I have ever had! I have thick longish hair and it's very curly, but I prefer it be smoothed out, and she does a great job. Previously hairdressers left my hair a bit wet and then I had to go home and continue blow drying. Besides that, Quynn is a sweet person and gave me this haircut today. She is also a master colorist.

Had a wonderful facial with Nara this week! I loved all the tools she used, from gua sha to hydra-facial. I left totally glowing and so relaxed!
