I am unbelievably disappointed. Immediately upon leaving I knew I wasn’t going to be happy. I couldn’t believe I was charged $149 + $50 deposit + $18 tip (I usually tip more but I was unhappy before I even sat up). I went in with some mascara that was a bit difficult to get off. I arrived early and told them this was the case before we even began. I explained that while I wanted hybrids, I wanted to prioritize singles and just have a couple fans here and there (because fans are heavy and when one falls out, it can be very obvious). I had done my best with my own products to remove any mascara/falsie glue and figured they would use professional/oil based products to remove, double cleanse, and move forward with application. This didn’t happen; my lashes were never cleaned besides dry picking away at some of the regular-old lash glue and complaining. My tech simply began applying. When I sat up, the first thing I noticed was that I could clearly see LOADS of lashes without extensions. This looked like a half set or like lashes that were due for a 3 week refill (seriously, it was wild).
I was happy to have lashes for Christmas and New Years and have been trying to keep them looking half decent ever since to get my “money’s worth” but they have been disastrous. I just asked my friend to help me separate lashes as up to FOUR natural lashes were attached to ONE fan! Insane!! After her help, I am finally slightly more comfy… but even still, this one has been driving me crazy and I just managed to itch it off my face… and it has two lashes glued to a fan.
If they were applied well and did the entire process including properly cleansing, the price could potentially be worthwhile, but I won’t be back, sadly. At least not to this location.
EDIT: I was offered $100 gift card in response to this review. I did not accept it. This experience has ruined Dolly Effect as a whole for me. In 15 years, I have never been that unhappy with eyelash extension results.

Would recommend anyone interested in lash extensions to visit Dolly Effect! They are very informative and will explain the entire process. Highly recommend!

As always, Dolly Effect totally nails it when it comes to my lashes. Each of their studios is always sparkling clean, which is a big plus for me.
I went for a mixed set this time for a more natural look and the appointment flew by and only took around an hour and a half. The lashes were super light, comfortable, and soft. Although I've been seeing a different lash artist each time based on whoever is available, the service I've received remains consistent and the retention of the lashes is great, they always last up to 3 weeks before I start to notice the fallout.
Overall, Dolly Effect continues to be my go-to for an extremely relaxing and spa-like lash extension experience. If you want clean, comfortable, top-notch service, and of course, pretty lashes, you can't go wrong with Dolly Effect.

I got allergic reaction to the product used. I had to have it removed couple days later due to my eyes having redness and swelling. No stars but I have to put a star.

I had an amazing experience at Dolly Effect and can't recommend it enough! Despite it being a smaller studio compared to some of their other locations, it had an undeniable charm and warmth that made me feel right at home.The staff went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. The relaxing atmosphere, with soothing music playing in the background, made the experience even more enjoyable.I went in for a two week refill for my kitten-style lash extensions, and the technician executed it flawlessly. They took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and the result exceeded my expectations.My lashes looked absolutely amazing - fluffy, full, and beautifully shaped. I left feeling more confident than ever, and I can't wait to return for my next lash appointment!

I have been a customer for quite some time-- but intermittently and I returned thinking service would improve The quality of work is less than standard, They use excessive amounts of glue to apply eyelashes. The lash person in San Bruno was getting frustrated and seemed inexperienced. The second visit to the new San Mateo store - they seemed more experienced but after getting an expert opinion from another lash co. -- they found 10 of my natural lashes per lash extension-- to heavy and causing natural breakage So I do not recommend this company for eyelash extensions --

Definitely my go-to place to get lash extensions! It took me a while to write this review because I feel like you don't *know* a place is great for lash extensions until you go there a few times. For starters, their staff are incredibly kind and helpful in finding the best style to suit you. I started with a natural set and slowly transitioned into a hybrid set. They were also able to help me try out different styles (whisky cateye vs doll eye). The hybrid makes it look like I have eyeliner on by default, so getting ready in the morning is super quick. Never had any issues with my extensions, and typically go back after ~3/4 weeks. The time between each fill will vary depending on the person and their own lash cycle. They hold a deposit when you first book an appointment, but it also goes towards your payment :) ------ Parking: The street might be busy but if you take a turn a block or two beforehand, parking is ample. Ambiance: Super cute building, very relaxing sections with calming music. They also offer a towel/blanket if you're cold. Extremely clean and organized.

Very professional and welcoming. It was my first visit and they walked me through all the options. It’s a very calm and serene setting (was falling asleep during the application). Great service! I normally get nervous when letting people know if I like the end result of the lashes but my lash tech made sure I came out LOVING my lashes. I was so comfortable with her that I told her exactly what I want and left there having exactly what I want! They made sure I left happy! Will definitely come back here again

This is my first time getting lash extensions and Dolly Effect made it so easy and enjoyable! The music and ambiance made it so relaxing. The staff was inviting and nice. 10/10 would recommend coming here :)
