WORST CAR RENTAL EVER!!! We were flying to San Diego for vacation back in February, and I saw That there was a low price for a car to rent, so we decided that it would be fine, but What happened next? WE GOT SCAMMED!!! Apparently, they raised the price to $80, Even worse it was off-site, and we had to find ways to reach them. When we got there, they told us that we were late, and they canceled our reservation, we had no choice but to rent a car at a HIGHER price. Then, when we returned the car, later on, they sent us the bill with $150 extra for cleaning. At a time, the car was in perfect condition when we brought it back since we barely used it. STAY AWAY!!

We rented a car over the internet and had 2 problems: they do not make it clear that you have to ride 2 shuttles from airport to reach this off site parking rental facility; and 2 days later when our car didn't open w the key fob we placed 2 calls to the office, left messages, and they never returned my calls. We used AAA TO assist us gain entry to the car. When I returned the car the agent just hurried us on and clearly didn't want to hear about their lack of service issue. I will never use them again. ACE subcontracts with MEX rental car at this location.

Great and fast service, really easy to book and great prices! Maria was Friendly & great customer service! I would come back and recommend this place to all my friends visiting San Diego! Thank you Maria for making my car rental experience smooth. Also the shuttle service was super fast.

Rented car through Price Lone weeks ahead of our trip. Once we flew into San Diego and went to the Ace Car Rental location, they stated that they didn't have the car that we rented and attempted to rent us a car at a higher price from their competition. They never called us or gave us any warning that the car we rented was not available. Would not recommend making a reservation with this company at all costs.

Sketchy company. Booked with Priceline and got an email a week later saying reservation was cancelled randomly. Called and spoke with customer service and they said they didn't know what happened but if we wanted to reserve the car again, the price would know be $140 more than what we originally reserved it for! Unbelievable, what a horrible company! There's no way this place will last with this type customer service they provide, looks like there's a reason they only have a well deserved one star!

We thought we were getting a great deal online by reserving a midsize car at the Ace Rental Car at the San Diego airport but it turned out to be a scam.. We got there after arriving and the customer service employee said he didn't have any midsize cars so he was going to give an upgrade. We were happy until he told us the 2 cars were not available so he had to upgrade to the next category.. the kicker was that we had to pay twice the price! He said because we didn't prepay he couldn't guarantee our reservation.. We were stuck between a rock and a hard place because we didn't want to get back on the shuttle and get a car at another agency.. Renter beware! Don't rent at Ace/Mex car rental!! Ace isn't a reputable car rental agency! If I could give it zero stars, I would!

Terrible service. My situation: I booked and prepaid to pick up a car to use on my wife and I's honeymoon, through Priceline. Day-of we had a flight change to arrive later in the evening. I called ACE customer service to let them know about the flight change, and the representative said the location would be closed but that there would be a 24-hour grace period for me to pick it up the next day. That was fine, we could take a train and Uber rides to get to our location and then back to the rental agency the next day. Next day I show up well before the 24-hour grace period ACE said and the location is actually "mex rent a car" - apparently the provider for ACE at the location. Turns out mex had the rental as "expired" in their system at the location and has no grace period policy (unless I had called the location directly ahead of time - they had no record of my call yesterday to ACE). So I get on the phone with ACE customer service who says the rental shows as still valid in ACE's system, and they direct me to mex customer service who says it's expired in their system, and they direct me back to ACE customer service, who again directs me to mex customer service. Finally, after a 5th call, this one to ACE, the ACE representative says mex has the final say on the availability. All said and done, I end up paying over twice what I had the reservation for and a bunch of wasted time. Absolutely ludicrous, and not what my wife and I wanted to deal with on our honeymoon.

Five stars and a go f yourself. Told me I can't drive out of state (actually not out of San Diego county but LA is ok for some reason) because of Covid yet on my reso it says I can drive to AZ or NV. Get your s*** together, update your website and take a geography lesson.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! It's a hassle to get to their off-site front desk compared to other rental companies, they aren't open convenient hours like other rental companies (they close at 6pm!), and they don't hold your reservation if your flight gets delayed past their business hours.In my experience, my flight was delayed, so I arrived after they closed. I was the first person at their front desk the next morning and they said they didn't have a car available for me. I immediately cancelled with them and went with someone else.DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

We have been exposed to a FRAUD in the store.We rent a car for 5 days with expense if 154$, but the clerk which called Maria entered a wrong car with wrong price for 194$. She told us, don’t worry about it, I will fix the price issue. We returned to the office on the designated date and time trying to extend for 1 more day and clarify the price issue. There was the most rude clerk called CARMEN (she refused to give us her full name), she refused to listen to our issue, refused to help us, and interrupted us every time we speak saying you need to call the customer service for any issues. She refused to give us the manager number as well. We tried to call ACE customer manager but no one answer. Finally we called some number on google but they told us that there is no supervisors on the weekends and they hanged the line on us three times.After more than 1.5 hours in that disgusting discussion, we decided to return the car because of that rude communication. Then we found that the final price is 228$ and that rude clerk refused to explain why we even charged another extra 35$. She keeped tge same rude communication and asking us to go out of the property without any explaination for the extra charge. When we tried to clarify the extra charge she called her colleagues and KICKED US OUT OF THE OFFICE.She kept using high aggressive tone and inappropriate words like “ YOU GUYS DON’T UNDERSTAND” “ YOU ARE RUDE” and “ GO OUT, YOU ARE KICKED OUT OF OUR PROPERTY”. They even didn’t explain anything.After we kicked out, we figured out from the invoice that she charged us extra day for that 1.5 hour we spent trying to fix our problem.She knows that we wanted initially to extend for one more day, refusing to help us, then took the car back and charge us extra day without our knowledge, refusing to explain why the extra charge. It is like SHE PLANNED TO HARM US. That definitely a big FRAUD and TRICK.Also, she has another issue with other customers there and she charged another lady 200$.No one in this company care for the company reputation or customer service. They deal like it us their own house.

Do not use this site. Confirmation was confirmed for 6pm pick up. Apparently this place closed at 6. We showed up at 6:08pm. Lost our car rental for the day and then they had no cars available for the next morning. How is that even possible? All transactions done in Mexico. Sooooo shady.

We got the car in a quick and timely manner. It was clean and exactly what we needed. Unfortunately, half way through our trip we got a nail in the tire. We brought it back to the rental center and from the time we pulled in to the time we were driving away in our new car was ten minutes. It was an identical make and model. It was so easy. Junior, Maria, and Drew were phenomenal. We definitely would rent here again.

This place is a life saver! The car rental I originally booked my reservation for left me no car to pick up. I had to find another rental car agency ASAP because I had a appointment to get to. I stumbled upon this place just across the street and Junior amazed me with his great customer service, and speedy resolution for me! I was in and out in less than 15 min! Mind you, he even called around for me to make sure I got a car today! He went above and beyond for me, got me a mid size SUV for a great price with unlimited miles! Junior made my day. Highly recommend this place! Other place is a joke compared to this one.

Ace Rent A Car was actually a much better experience than I was expecting it to be. I really wanted a car rental agency that was at the SD airport. I was annoyed that it was off site. But they shuttled us to the location they gave us a car that met our needs & the description of what our rental was online and they honored the contract we made w/Priceline. I was happily impressed & Id be glad to rent a car from them again in the future. They were the best price I found in SD & I’m very happy we rented our car from Ace! Thanks Tons!
