I called and made a reservation to pick up a car and while on the phone was asked what time I would like to pick up the car. I said noon and he said that would be fine and marked my reservation down for noon without telling me that they close at noon. So I was 5 minutes late at 12:05 and it was closed and I couldn't get my car. The person who took the reservation should have told me they close at noon and that I can't be there at noon. I have to be there before noon. That led to me not having a car for an entire day. When I call customer service, they told me that when you ever reservation at noon you have to be there before noon. To me, that doesn't make any sense. If I go to the doctors and my appointments at noon and I show up at 12:02 I can still see my doctor. What kind of place makes a reservation for the exact time they close? And then they don't tell you that they close at noon. Furthermore, when I went to go turn it in, the man working at the desk was missing for 20 minutes. Not sure what he was doing, but that almost made us leave for our flight. There should be a better system in place

Excellent customer service. The car that we received was very clean and properly maintained. Attendants were very flexible and courteous. Will definitely come back to rent at this location.

My recent experience with Avis at the Town & Country location has left me utterly disappointed. Despite having a confirmed reservation for a 4:00 PM car pickup on Dec 13th, I arrived to find the office closed at the very same time they promised my vehicle would be ready.It's mind-boggling that they would offer a pickup time of4:00 PM when their doors shut at that hour. The clear mismatch between the listed closing time and the promised pickup time resulted in considerable inconvenience and frustration on my part, as I had made plans based on their confirmation.While I understand that unexpected issues can arise, encountering such a stark discrepancy is disheartening. In light of this, I've requested a full refund for my reservation, seeking fair compensation for the inconvenience and time wasted waiting without access to the rental car I had reserved. I emailed the manager and still haven't heard back.

Ordered a truck online and when got to Avis they said no trucks are available.

I requested a Toyota Corolla or something similar, but I was given a Kia Soul which is a compact. I was charged for a Toyota or something similar, and had to say something to the guy that charged me in order for him to actually charge me the lesser price for a compact vehicle (which was actually cheaper than what I had been originally charged, but if I had not said anything he was going to go ahead and let me pay the higher price for compact vehicle). The vehicle had not been cleaned, it was dirty inside and out. When I dropped the vehicle off I stated to the person at the counter the vehicle was dirty prior to me renting it, and I was not trying to be compensated, but that I just wanted Avis to be aware so they wouldn't rent a dirty vehicle to the next person, and he said something smart like well you've returned the vehicle so you don't have to worry about that now. I stated I was not worried about it for myself, but it needed to be cleaned for the next person and they should not rent dirty vehicles to customers.

Best place to rent a car in San Diego is at their Mission Valley Location at The Town and Country Hotel. Best prices, very friendly and easy in-and-out.

The Avis rental office in Mission Valley San Diego is difficult to find. the car smelled way too strongly of the scent they spray in it. Ugh! The car was a middle quality Kia. Not too bad for a car with 30k miles.

AVOID. Rented a Tesla but was told the battery wasn't charged because they didn't have the infrastructure to charge. Was given a Toyota SUV which I dropped off at the scheduled time. 3 days later I got a text that my car was never returned and I've been charged over $600. Can't get in touch with the location to get fixed so was on hold with call center to get sorted. Now have to wait 5-7 business days to confirm they fixed this and refunded my money. I rent a lot of cars from national and never dealt with this before.

Booked through Costco so that's good bc them plus USAA got back my over $400 that was overcharged. The one old man who works there needs help and training on how to deal with customers bc he was super rude and abrupt. I also didn't appreciate that instead of getting what I would expect as an Avis rewards (I don't remember what they call it) didn't get the normal great service with Hertz as a Gold Rewards member: ie greater selection, actual customer service and professionalism along with the easier process, cleaner and correct vehicles.I thought it was ironic this man tried to mansplain me why my card didn't go through it wasn't bc it didn't work like he insinuated which was both embarrassing and frustrating but bc he didn't know how to work the card reader. I also didn't appreciate the condescending attitude given the fact that I was at the resort and that was the only reason for attempting this inept and quite frankly horrible rental car company.I will never recommend this location and if this and all the several horrible reviews are any indication maybe avis should rethink the staffing and selection of cars bc no your old Toyota that didn't even have a clean interior let alone Apple or Android car play along with questionable brakes in one of the worst so cal storms was definitely not what I had reserved and completely not an EV although it was parked there. If I had also known that this location sucked so much for hours wouldn't have ever wasted my time, energy or money dealing with it.Moral of the story book at the airport or Hertz or literally any other company.

Vehicles are not cleaned between rentals. Also check the maintenance. My vehicle needed new brake pads badly, was burning oil, maintence light was on, tread on tires low. One person at a time working. Expect a wait even with a reservation. Also I charged an extra $429.88 undisclosed on rental agreement.

Helpful, honestBefore I got a car, he let me know that my rental car missed a part (hub cap) and gave me a note that told about damage or missing car part. He told me to keep that note and may show it when return car (return at another location) Some rental car locations don't tell anything to customers. Any missing is our pay. This place is care for their customers. He answered me many questions.This location didn't trick customer like some place that charged any service that I don't want. Final price was same as quote price. CON : This location is hard to find. It is inside of hotel building. It closes early, 4.00pmI will come back this location when I need rental car next time.

Since it's a small location, it's completely understandable that they don't have each brand, segment, and color. This weekend I rented a 7-passenger SUV, so I called 24 hours before my pick up, they didn't have it when I called, but they made sure to get it on time for my reservation. This is my second time renting in this location, and it's been an excellent service!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Should have just cancelled my reservation when I arrived to pickup the car and the door was open but no one to be found anywhere, waited over 25 mins for "Raul" to return saying he was looking at cars, no sign on the door or communication. He was short, rude and didn't even show me to the garage where the car was. Pickup was the bigger issue. I had plans and planned on dropping off the car prior. Arrived to drop off as scheduled and the door is closed with a sign that says will return at 925am and a number to call for information.... That's another 30 minute wait standing outside. Called the number, no answer and a generic voicemail. Received a text that said "BRB at garage" after 15 mins. Unprofessional, and the worst experience. In addition, car was filthy with bandaid wrappers inside on the floorboard.
