“I’ve taken multiple classes at this studio, and each one has been consistently excellent. The workouts are thoughtfully designed, the energy is always high, and the instructors genuinely care about helping you improve. It’s become a place I look forward to going—not just for fitness, but for the community and motivation it brings.”

I first came across Renegade on ClassPass and was so impressed with the experience that I decided to become a member. This gym offers a wide variety of bootcamp like classes with fantastic energy and some truly talented coaches. While there are a few who are overly egotistical and could use a come back to earth reality check and a touch more humility, the majority of the coaching staff is excellent. Two standouts are Gabrielle Y. and Christian Q., who make working out an absolute pleasure. Gabrielle’s welcoming demeanor and contagious positivity create a great atmosphere, and Christian’s coaching style is equally motivating and supportive.
The classes themselves are high-energy, challenging, and adaptable to different fitness levels. What I love most is that each coach brings their unique style and energy to the table. Once you find the coach who resonate with you, it’s easy to stick with them and stay consistent. The variety keeps things interesting, and you’ll never get bored while working toward your fitness goals.
One of the challenges, however, is parking. Since Lazy Acres put up signs claiming what feels like half the lot, finding a spot can be a headache. I’ve learned not to arrive too early because spots typically free up only once the previous class ends. While it can be frustrating to circle the lot, a little patience and timing go a long way. It’s something to keep in mind when planning your visits.
The gym itself could benefit from more regular cleaning and maintenance. A deep cleaning is definitely overdue, as dust, hair, and even cobwebs can be seen in corners. Some benches are rusty and could use replacing. While these issues don’t take away from the quality of the workouts, they do detract from the overall experience. Many other gyms in the area have weekly professional cleaning services, which could be a great addition here to help maintain a fresher, more polished environment.
Despite these minor drawbacks, Renegade remains a fantastic place to work out. The membership is reasonably priced, although ClassPass is still more affordable and offers lower price penalties for late cancellations. Overall, the quality of the classes and the dedication of standout coaches like Gabrielle and Christian make this gym worth checking out. If you’re looking for a challenging yet welcoming environment to achieve your fitness goals, Renegade is a solid choice—just plan ahead for parking and connect with the coaches whose energy aligns with yours!

Been going to Renegade Hillcrest for the last couple months. The workouts and coaches are excellent, but can’t give this place five stars because it is filthy. One thing you want in a gym is cleanliness, it is so dirty in there it feels gross — I don’t think it’s been properly cleaned in many many months. There is dust caked on the ledges and floors. The rack areas have legitimate dust bunnies against the walls. The gym desperately needs to be deep cleaned.

I completed a free trial and ultimately did not purchase a membership due to the Hillcrest location (closest to me) being extremely dirty. Floor and weight racks are very dirty and dusty, the place feels like it hasn't been properly cleaned in months.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few months now and i love it so much! It’s a bit tough to find spots available for the morning slots if you don’t jump on them as soon as they are available. The coaches are all awesome. Especially Liz Y. Is fabulous! She is so patient, friendly, and motivates you to be your best. Lover her classes.

I've been coming to Renegade for 8 months now, and I'm really impressed with the quality of the classes. The instructors are particularly noteworthy. Two instructors consistently stand out: Liz and Tyler. Liz excels in her instruction. She's detail-oriented, ensuring everyone understands each exercise. She also provides modifications for different fitness levels, making her classes inclusive for everyone.Tyler brings an unmatched level of motivation to his classes. His positive energy is infectious, and he has a knack for personalizing challenges to push each student further while maintaining safety. His playlists and the energetic atmosphere he creates make his classes my absolute favorites. My only issue is that some teachers finish the classes 5-7 minutes late in the morning. While I don't mind this on weekends, it adds a little rush to my day during the week before I head to work.Overall, Renegade offers exceptional fitness classes with top-notch instructors!

I love this gym, I think it’s a great workout… intense but fun and leaves you sweating and feeling KILLER afterwards, full body!! The instructors are great and kind and helpful and motivating.Cons: I HATE HATE HATE the cancellation policy here. I pay $100 a month for UNLIMITED classes but am charged $17 for no show, and $15 if I cancel within less than 8 hours of the class. I understand why cancellation and late fees are in place but it’s just not fair, sometimes LIFE HAPPENS. People are exhausted, in pain, sore, stuck at work, have to pick up their kid earlier than expected.. LIFE HAPPENS and every time I miss a class, I’m charged. If I don’t cancel EIGHT hours before.. I’m charged. It just doesn’t seem fair to have this cancellation policy in place. It’s like the owners of this gym do not understand that LIFE HAPPENS. I’m tired of paying $15 on top of the $100 I already pay when an unexpected event comes up in life and I can’t go to class. Super super super upsetting. I’m almost at the point of cancelling this membership because it’s just too strict. I’m spending way too much money cancelling because I HAVE A LIFE AND THINGS HAPPEN.

I'm not sure why this gym got such great reviews. The facilities are essentially a garage with an iPad. No amenities. Not typical treadmill, which I couldn't figure out how to use. The rest of the workout is pretty basic and the facilities are so depressing that I have no plans to return.
