My wife went in for a simple, small cash deposit. The ATM was under maintenance.
The bank teller was a woman (no name) that proceeded to look over my wife's California Real ID with such scrutiny, it made my wife very uncomfortable. Even preceding to hold up the ID and visually compare the two of them in addition. The teller proceeded to count the $800 over and over again (4 times). Even double comparing again at the ID before handing it back.
So as the husband, I have to hear about this when she returns. This is a small cash deposit into a checking account. She leaves Vons (where US Bank resides) not purchasing something she wanted due to feeling so flustered by the interaction.
My wife is smaller Korean woman, I am a 6' 2" white male. I honestly don't feel I would have had the same experience depositing a mere eight hundred in cash at US Bank. So part of me feels it had a derivative of racism, bad manners and poor training execution. And frankly, a little embarrassed having my wife go to this branch for some basic banking for our family.

US Bank has always been fair and very friendly. This US Bank located in the Vons store is super convenient being opened on weekends. The staff is always respectful and willing to help.

Teller was very rude. Branch manager refused to assist with a charge dispute which was clearly the banks fault. I have witnessed many customers complain while in line at this bank. One teller even began to argue loudly with a customer who was clearly correct about their dispute and then teller refused to assist customer in completing his withdraw slip. ATM was not working but no employee had the professionalism to put a sign on the ATM letting customers know it was out of order instead kept giving the excuse to each customer that they were too busy. Worst service from a bank I have ever seen.

I do both my personal and business banking at this location in Von's. First, the location is closest to my house and the hours they are open help me so much because of my busy schedule. They are even open on Sunday! All of the tellers in there know me by name and are so friendly and helpful. Great staff!
