Very kind, thoughtful owner. We didn't end up using his services because we wanted our antique table disassembled for storage instead of restored (ultimately didn't make sense to do) but he spent a good 10 minutes brainstorming how best to store our table even after we declined his work.

While I haven't tried his services per se (and won't), I have met him... A few days ago I picked up my daughter from school and we were heading home on Greenwich St. in Cow Hollow. We were on my electric cargo bike going the speed limit in a designated bike route. An older small man with glasses driving the Cow Hollow Woodworks red van sped aggressively past on the left side of the street breaking the speed limit. As we rolled up to the next stop sign on his right side I gave him a thumbs down for his driving. He seemed to have a small conniption fit and was screaming something at us from behind the glass. He then sped off.As we turned up Steiner there he was again coming towards us, this time he was wildly flipping me and my young daughter off. He then pulled up right in front of his shop (you can't make this stuff up). I pulled up to him and he exited his van and he was screaming obscenities at us while my daughter covered her ears. In his rage he wouldn't let me get a word in, so we left.I don't post on Yelp very often, but I thought you should know who you are dealing when choosing Cow Hollow Woodworks.

Even just bringing in a large piece of driftwood I picked up while hiking, he was very knowledgeable and helpful in how to display it within my home. If I have any woodworking needs or ideas I know where I’m going.

I bought a thrift store antique table that had nice lines but needed to go to rehab. Rico restored it to a lovely piece of furniture, even doing more than we had discussed because he really cares about every job, and I couldn't be happier. He's an artist and a magician who could teach classes about wood and its uses in period furniture, and his rates are more than fair. I'll be back with the next abused antique with potential that I find.

I brought in my great grandmother's dining table to be repaired and refinished. Cow Hollow Woodworks did a phenomenal job breathing new life into the piece. They repaired damage to the base and refinished the table including leaves, successfully updating an oak family antique that now will fit well with more contemporary pieces in our remodeled home. There are few craftspeople left in the refinishing trade with this high level skill set and appreciation for older pieces. Don't discard your family treasures; upcycle and take them to Cow Hollow Woodworks. And for those who are cost conscious, refinishing an existing piece can be far less than purchasing a new, often lesser quality, piece without the rich family history.

Terrific work and service at a reasonable price from Cow Hollow Woodworks. I had significant damage to my antique furniture from my move to SF. Everything has been well repaired and is back in place within a few weeks. As a bonus, I learned more about the age and origins of my items than I knew before!

Good service, not the cheapest place around but they do good work. Remember to call ahead as they may be out on a job or delivery.
