We came here because we heard of the “large” plus size selection. I’m a size 18/20. There were hardly any dresses in my size, and unfortunately all the dresses I liked were too small. I tried fitting into some of them using extenders but it was really hard to picture. Additionally, other places I had been to previously had the attendant in the changing room with me, creating a dress puddle for me to step into and helping me lift it up. Here, I had to do it all myself, then call to them to come in and help me close the back. It just didn’t feel special or personal. I tried on a couple dresses that were actually slightly big on me, but the attendant had trouble clipping it back in a way that kept my boobs up—i only mention this because at other places i went when i wore a larger dress, they had no issues clipping it back and making it so the dress could hold up my boobs (maybe the issue was also that the dresses didn’t have enough structure for me—not made for plus size people). And also it cost $50–they said they do this because other places do, and I believe them but in my experience, the other two places I went were free for the first appointment. I want to caution other plus size girlies from coming here, especially if you’re even bigger than me. I felt so much more beautiful and confident at places dedicated to plus size clientele. The staff, service and dress selection at Janene’s were all fantastic. I didn’t end up choosing my dress here but I had such a great experience. Leslie my stylist really went above and beyond. I would recommend Janene’s to any bride looking for her dress!

This location is beautiful and the staff is so friendly! I had the best wedding dress shopping experience thanks to Kimberly. She was attentive, gave us great information, explained everything in detail, just so helpful & she was fun! Request her for your appointment, seriously. I was nervous the selection would be limited in their curvy section but they had a lot of dresses and styles to choose from. I ended up leaving with 2 dresses lol we drank champagne as we waited and tried on dresses, the staff even referred a place for alterations closer to where I live. Wonderful experience overall! Im grateful.

I just got my dress from Janene’s in SF today! I had such a fantastic experience. I came on a weekday afternoon as a drop in.
Maesa was my stylist and was so wonderful! He quickly understood my sense of style and priorities right away, and helped pull dresses that fit my style. He also gave great suggestions on how to best tailor the dress to fit me. He was very knowledgeable about different fabrics and dress styles, and with his help, I was able to find my dress!
The store in general had just a really wide selection of dresses, both sample dresses (off the rack), and also dresses that you can try and order new in specific sizes. They also have in house tailoring.
Overall highly recommend Janene’s!

I had the most incredible experience at Janene’s Bridal in San Francisco! The entire appointment felt so special & personalized.
I booked a 1.25-hour appointment for myself and 3 guests—my mom, sister, and grandma. We were able to order a bottle of champagne, which came a cute bar cart, with complimentary chocolates & fresh berries—a lovely touch.
Even though my scheduled time was supposed to be just over an hour, Kimberly went above and beyond, allowing me to try on well past the time, so that I could try on every dress my family & I had selected. Her patience, attentiveness, & warm personality made what could have been an overwhelming day feel effortless and fun!
It was a meaningful moment to have my guests there, and so comfortable. , I’m so grateful for how accommodating & welcoming the team was.
I look forward to my next visit to Janene’s Bridal & recommend them to any bride-to-be looking for a special, stress-free, & memorable dress-shopping experience!

Our experience was amazing! They let us take our time and the space was not crowded and felt like an intimate moment for me and my family. The sales associates helped pick out more dresses to try on based on what I liked and were so excited for me when I found what I wanted!

I had the most amazing experience at Janene's in SF. There were so many beautiful dresses in a wide range of styles, but it also never felt overwhelming. My stylist, Austin, was so thoughtful and took the time to listen to what I liked and disliked about each dress I tried on and then made wonderful recommendations for what to try next. I was also impressed with how he heard ~me~ throughout the experience and tactfully navigated the opinions and inputs of my bridal party as well. The space was also comfortable, beautiful, and approachable.

I went in on a Thursday just to browse and had Austin (he’s great!) and we tried on dresses in their $700 Black Friday sale. I explained my tight timeline to the Janene’s team and they immediately booked me in for a second appointment for Saturday where I found the perfect dress in my price range! That same day they were able to get me in for my first alterations appointment at the Alameda location and have been amazing at fitting in all three alterations appointments into the one week timeline. I feel like I got a dress and an alterations experience worth more than the cost I paid. I would recommend to any other Bay Area brides and am thankful for the Janene’s team and all their help.

I had a very positive experience with Leslie at the SF location, It was my first time trying on wedding dresses and she was so helpful and patient with me and my group of 5 family members. She went above and beyond to bring several options and accessories for each look and listened to all of our feedback. I didn’t end up finding the one but Leslie promptly followed up with additional information on the two options I was considering. I would definitely recommend Leslie and Janene’s bridal selection.

Janene’s SF location has an incredible selection of off-the-rack sample sale and consignment gowns. So many it’s nearly overwhelming. We had to wait a while for our assistant to help a prior customer, but we also were able to take our time during our appointment without feeling rushed. The dress I picked was on this month’s “sale” rack. The dress is 2 sizes too big but the design has been discontinued so I can’t order it new in the correct size. However, the sale tag was missing and so our assistant quoted us regular price. When I told her I had pulled it from the sales rack she looked it up and said it had been misplaced there. However, she went and talked to her manager anyways, who agreed to reduce the price by $500. That accommodation was enough to make me feel good about saying “yes” to the dress! That $500 savings can go towards my alterations bill.

I had a great experience at Janene's. Austin and the rest of the staff were very supportive and helpful. They gave me space to shop on my own and then were so attentive when it was time for me to try the dresses on. I felt like Austin really listened and knew the inventory well. Very grateful!

We had a wonderful time at Janene's! The store is comfortable and well organized. My helper, Austin was very helpful and professional. The store has a great selection of different styles and sizes, and, because the SF location is a sample store there were great deals on the dresses. Most importantly, I tried on a dress and was absolutely stunned and knew I had to take it home. They set me up with my first fitting appointment there on the spot and I'm looking forward to continuing to work with them. I'm very happy with my whole experience!

Austin was such a sweet and helpful stylist! I didn’t end up purchasing my gown here because I found exactly what I was looking for elsewhere, but my appointment really helped me figure out what I was looking for, and I would definitely have definitely bought my dress there if they’d had it. Lots of pretty inventory and great, attentive service.

This was one of my four bridal appointments and was where I ended up getting my dress!! The selection of dresses is amazing, the prices are INCREDIBLE, and all the staff are super kind! Jasmine was my stylist and she was able to pull a dress that I originally thought was out of my budget, but because of their AMAZING sales ended up coming in $200 BELOW! It was such an easy relaxed experience - they have you go around and pick what you want to try, she left me and my group alone to discuss and deliberate which was really nice (we’ve had other stores where people hover and it was a bit awkward to pick apart the dress and the price). When I came back to pick up my dress the other stylist and alterations pro was there and helped walk me through the options for how I’d be able to make the dress fit like a dream! Would highly recommend. Thank you Janene’s!
