Old-school Thai place in the gritty Tenderloin of SF. Probably not the best neighborhood for tourists. Reasonable prices and average Thai food. Try to boat noodles. If you're feeling more ambitious, try Lers Ros on Larkin.

Both me and my husband enjoyed all the meals at Zen Yai, they had this original Thai taste which had all the spices. It was tasty and spicy at the same time. The price of the dishes were considered reasonable and the restaurant was also very packed hence it is advisable to arrive early. I would definitely recommend it to whoever loves Thai food and is in San Francisco.

Cheap and tasty eats here at Zen Yai. Go for the boat noodle soup at just $2.50. The bbq meats are also worth trying. I found the curries to be a little bland, so would skip them next time. Service is quick and the ambiance is casual and laid back. There are plenty of Asian restaurants in the area and more fancy Thai options such as Les Ros, but Zen Yai is good if you’re on a budget. Be sure to look at where you step around these parts...

The fact I just found this place upsets me. It is now my favorite Thai spot, the food is on point and the staff is so friendly. If you're looking for great Thai food at an even better price, this is for you!!!

The chicken rice was delicious! Chicken noodle soup was simple and good. Loved that they have wide rice noodles. Service was not bad.
