The broth doesn't disappoint (and we all know it's all about the broth when it comes to pho!) The ambiance is unassuming but quaint. It's becoming a fast lunch spot favorite!

Great pho place with good food, the spring rolls were especially good. The pho portions were decent, larger portions would be nice but running a business is rough right now. Would definitely go here again

This restaurant has been my family's favorite for years. I've been going here since I was 12 (22 now). It's a hole in the wall type of place, so the service might be more blunt. However, the food makes up for it. I usually get a bowl of pho followed by a fried banana for dessert. They usually flambé the banana in front of you so that's pretty cool.

As I drive into down town SJ, I see this pho place. I was intrigued by the name and graphic design of the building. As I ventured in, I was greeted and said that I could sit anywhere during a Friday lunch rush. I sat down was provided a menu and in a few minutes the hostess took my order. I ordered the combo pho large since I had to ask what the difference between a small and large were. My pho comes up. It smells good, first thing I do is taste the broth and it was good. Hint of Star aneis that was not too strong. I like it. There was a good amount of meat in the soup, but it was pretty simple with a combo (meat, some tripe, green onions, onions and noodles). I enjoyed the pho but here were my cons for my visit: 1). When you order pho, you get a dish of sprouts, jalapeños, basil etc. my sprouts were brown - they were old and I did not want to put it in my soup. Looked questionable. My basil was on the wilted side, wasn't fresh a and wasn't wilted. 2) silverware - the communal area on the table where they had silverware and plates: the mini plate was dirty so had to go down the line of plates to find a clean one, the pho soup spoon that I didn't check was dirty so had to get a new spoon where I then had to examine my chopsticks in case 3). When paying for my bill, I was ignored. Lots of folks working but I stood in the front for awhile till I was able to pay for the bill 4). Was a bit pricy for pho close. Had other pho spots that were cheaper and in the San Pedro area. I did enjoy the pho broth, I may come again.

All my Viet's know this is an SJ institution. This restaurant has been here for decades and I have been coming here with my family since I was a kid. Their pho ap chao is unmatched and my go to order. Other menu favorites: fried banana, pho, banh cuon. Pro tip: their hot sauce (plain red bottle) is no joke - use with caution.

Food was awful. I ordered Pho ap chao, and it was inedible! They used regular rice noodle-packed it together about 1/2 inch thick and slathered a thick sauced using way too much cornstarch .... No flavor/taste whatsoever and it was $16 !!! I would be embarrassed if I was the owner serving such an item. The place appeared to be run downed - unclean. First and last time customer.

Outdoor paint by the wall looks great and modern that's why we decided to try it when we walked by.However inside was outdated, looks like street style shack back in vietnam.Pricing is OK, bowl comes in 2 sizes small& large. We decided to order # 1 brisket with add on beef balls for both bowls. My partner got complete order however mine was missing beef ball , i told the male server then a lady came in by our table and decided to scoop out my bowl with her spoon searching for the "beef ball" that wasn't there. I was disgusted and lost my appetite . Find it very appropriate to just scoop out someone else's food esp paying customers.Nothing special on the pho was quite basic.

8/4/22 - Stopped by this pho place, for the first time, ordered a large veggie noodle soup. All good. Far from a fancy place, nor cheap, $15 for a large bowl. 10 min into chowing it down, store mom walked over with a small bowl of veggies and said--more for you, and she just dumped it all in my big bowl and walked away. Thats love, you just can't get more family than that.

This might be the best Pho in downtown San Jose. I came here for lunch the other day and got the Pho Tai Chin. It was simple yet excellent. The meat was very tender, and the broth was so flavorful. In addition, my order was prepared very quickly but did not taste like it had been premade and waiting for someone to order that dish specifically. I will definitely be back to try some other dishes on the menu!

My family and extended members have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. Service is terrible, and the food is a hit or miss. My parents have a special preference to this restaurant and often order to-go, but their to-go orders often have mistakes or missing items. The staff is sloppy at best. Most recently, my family planned with the restaurant ahead of time to have 27 people dine at the restaurant. The place was ill prepared to handle that many people and the volume of orders simultaneously. They only had one server to manage the whole place so you can imagine how poor and dysfunctional the experience was for everyone. Beware of their dirty utensils which are always poorly cleaned. The restaurant has tendency to microwave all types of food before serving it to customers. They have a microwave next to the stairs that lead to the restrooms which they use to microwave raw meat such as beef steak that goes into pho. The staff handles this meat while microwaving it with their bare hands. To the owners and management: get your sh*t together.

Would rate zero if I can. Pho has no flavors. Store out of everything for some reason. Compared to sacramento pho this pho place is awful.

I'm sorry but I gotta put 1 star because of the pho taste weird and it's not the good taste soup. Fix it before start selling your dish. I had to eat noodles without the soup because it's gives me that weird taste buds. There's bugs flying around the food too so not good areas

Honestly please go somewhere else to go eat pho! It’s San José you can find such better pho down the street. My party couldn’t even stomach the pho broth, we got beef and vegetarian. My party unfortunately had to spit out their food after one - two bites. As we got up to pay we got really rude service and judgment from the restaurant. Like wow we are still paying for the food we are not going to eat because we respect the hustle but the y’all communicated with us was not right.I didnt have to do this review but with the way things ended please save your time and go discover better pho in San José!

I really enjoyed their stir fry sitting on top of crispy noodles. The flavor was hearty and lightly salted. The vegetables taste better than the meat. The noodles never got too soggy either.
