Car was starting intermittently. Scheduled an appointment to check the battery. They did it free & a quick diagnostic free too. Nothing came up. They could easily had said - bad battery and would have believed and bought one right there. I appreciate them being honest.

Do not bring your car to this shop. Please read,My friend used to work there as a service adviser and he shared with me all the trick that he was trained to do and to avoid all lawsuit or being sued while working for Skip's auto repair shop. The manager John and all service advisers are making money based on bonus (Big bonus goes to John the manager) and commision. So the more . So they always try to sell jobs and dishonest to customer in a legally way. They are trained to sell jobs to avoid lawsuit or get caught cheating. So they are very clever and do sweet talk to customers make it sounds very convincingly.First of they will provide free inspection when you bring your vehicle in for oil change and have a non-mechanic tech that the shop hired only know how to do oil change to do vidual inspection and gather all information ( brake pad thickness, belts, the mileage) for the service advisors. And based on that information, the service advisers will start calling customers to recommend to replace shocks and cabin air filter (AC. filter under glove compament) brake fluid flush and etc.... Based on the even there is not thing wrong with shocks or cabin air filter. Those are the basic thing they are trained to sell first. They are trained to deal with customers in such away to avoid lawsuit, get caught by under cover. That is why they always use work "recommend"If there was a minor break fluid leak, John the manger always expect you to do a complete brake job (replace brake pad, rotors and drums) due to contamination. Even the rotor or drum can be cleaned with water. But he will not pointed it out.In regard to flat tire repair, if your tires got nail or puncher that cannot be repaired and you ask John the manager or other service advisers for quick check, they will check it, but they will not tell you up-front even they know for sure the tire cannot be repair so you can decide whether you want replace it or not, or put on a spare tire and replace it later. They wouldn't do that. They will waste your time by asking you to leave the vehicle at the shop for inspection, then call you later and recommend you to replace two tiresAt least or four depends of the condition. That is their strategy to trick customers, because they know your car is already in the shop and psychologically, most of customers will replace the tires. They got you.In regards to "check engine" light showed up on your car's dashboard, sometime due to gas cap was not closed properly. If you bought your vehicle in for inspection, they will charge you around $100-$120 for diagnostic, if it turn out to be the gas cap you didn't close properly, they still charge you $120 for the diagnostic fee even only take them 5 minutes to find out. They really dishones, I wouldn't mind to pay $50.If you shop for new tires, don't go to Skip's, because they always try to offer you expensive tires first, and couple of bucks cheaper than American discount tires (their main competitor)But they will get you at the end. They will charge you balance and mouting fee, and recommend you to do 4 wheels alignment (even it is not needed) and buying road hazard insurance which is wasting money. And if declined 4 wheels alignment or bring back for tire rotation, the tread wear warranty will be voided. If you bring back your car just tire rotion, they will not do it right away, even they took your vehicle in first, they will push it out if they're getting busy with or vehicles which they can make money, you car will be treated aa a low priority. If somehow they could not sell any jobs to you, as soon as you walk out of the shop, especially John the manger will curse about you and used profanity language.John seems really a nice guy at first and after he got your business, otherwise, he would be nasty and acting unprofessional. So stay away from this shop for good. Go to an individual owned repair shop, as they don't make money based on commision like skip's auto repair and they will provide the same quality of service at reas

If I could give 0 stars I would. This shop is unprofessional, liars, and careless. They also laugh if you try to tell them they messed up and damaged your vehicle. They damaged my brand new rims during what was supposed to be simple wheel replacement and alignment. My car was also left shaking even more after. When I told them about the damage, they denied it and had to go to corporate. The shop didn't accept any liability. Not worth your time or money, bunch of irresponsible employees working here. Glad at least corporate saw through their BS. Don't come here and save yourself the stress plenty of other good shops in the area.

I used to come to Skip's Tire Silver Creek a lot because it's so close to home.I called and Tony picked up. I told him what car I have and what I needed (only front tires). He said this car must change all 4 tires at the same time. I said this is impossible, I just took my car to this shop 2 years ago just to have my back tires switched out, and at that time, they sold me just 2 tires!!He then just proceeded to ask me the size of my tires. And what the shop sold to me the last time. My goodness, I don't know if they think that I don't know anything about tires BC I am a woman or that they just want to make more money. Still, left a bad taste in my mouth.Sorry, no business for you, this is NOT an honest business.

Quick recap of my experience at Skips.I took my boat trailer to get new tires. They called me back 5 hours later to tell me job is done . I arrived , job was only 1/2 done .They installed one new tire , they told me they stripped out the wheel lugs So couldn't do the 2nd tire . Asked if they can fix it , the response from the person at front desk was " sorry we don't specialize in trailers" .He had told me that getting parts for a trailer isn't as easy as it is for a car. I also reminded the person at front desk that I paid for 2 tires to be installed how about a bit of a refunded . I was denied!I got home and checked lugs myself , they never told me prior to leaving that 4 outta 5 wheels studs where free spinning so I was driving home on 1 wheel stud and lug nut . The damage that could have happened if that wheel had fallen off on the road . I should have known it was going to be all bad when the technician asked me what point of the trailer does he use the floor jack on . Will never go to Skips again . Poor customer service , safety is not a concern . If you don't specialize in trailers why do you sell trailer tires? Why did you accept the job ?

Took my car here to get an alignment. Once I got it back, it kept steering to the right. I took it back two more times and every time it got worse. This is within less than a 2 week timeframe. I had to move my steering wheel left just to go straight. After the third time, I brought it in again with the same issue and they mentioned that I had a faulty caster part so therefore it isn't aligning. Surprised they didn't tell me this the first time I brought in my car. They quoted me over $1k for the part and for labor. With that, I decided to go to my dealership service shop instead since it sounded like it was a manufacturing problem. Turns out, the caster is fine and I only needed an alignment. To that, I won't be coming back to Skip's.

Booked an appointment two days in advance on their website. Sat in traffic for 40 min to show up on time for the appointment. When I got there I was told the last appointments are taken and that there aren't any spots left before the end of the day, "don't know why the website lets you do that".

Came here to try them out as they are close by and went strictly for an oil change. Cost after tax was $117 and some change. They recommended I get my air filter changed and my tires rotated(quoted $130), which would have bumped the price to around $380ish. The assessments for those services were fair, but I declined as I have a warranty for those services elsewhere. Came at 1pm on a Wednesday, the wait was roughly 3 hours. Side notes:-Making an appointment online doesn't mean anything. -I'm not sure if they forgot or purposefully didn't reset my maintenance light. -Interestingly they also wrote my mileage at service as 68,000 instead of 63,000.+ Otherwise, anyone that interacted with or helped me was friendly.

Over torques your wheels. Leaving to stretched/compromised wheel bolts. I had 3 snap off and after putting the car on Jack's, removing all 4 wheels they were visibly over torqued. Metal shavings on every lug nut, and threads of the wheel studs. And VISIBLE stretching of the threads. Unprofessional, and when I called to confront them they just tried getting me off the phone as quick as possible not wanting to look into the situation. Definition of unprofessional. I guess they're too cool to look up torque values and just ugga duhha your $#!+ On. Go somewhere else

My breaks were starting to squeak and they gave me a complimentary check. I'm good for a few more 1000 miles. They didn't charge and didn't push anything. I appreciate the honesty.
