I was looking for a great local Credit Union and within moments of walking in the door of SLOCU I knew I had found it. Opening the account was super easy. The app and internet banking work great and the customer service is excellent. I'm glad to have found the best local Credit Union.

I've been a member here for just over a year and have been impressed with the personal and friendly service since the start. I appreciate the smallness of the business - sometimes I think we consider only "big" can be good/efficient/useful. Here, smaller is perfect. Recently, they switched to a new online banking system. Despite the almost-required glitches that transitioning to any new system brings, this move has been a real asset and has "leveled up" their ability to serve members. I encountered some challenges setting up my account (which were ENTIRELY operator error - mine, I mean!) and had to drop in to deposit a check, so asked what to do to fix my errors while I was in. The LOVELY tellers both stopped to chat with me (they know me by name, which is so nice) and made sure I was able to reset my account details and start over easily, which worked out well when I got home. Had occasion to ask for help today via phone with a different issue related to starting up with the new online banking system and the level of service was outstanding and very supportive. Could not be more satisfied and pleased to have had their help. Money is stressful - for me, I'm so thankful to be in the hands of the folks at SLO CU. Will gladly keep my business here and plan to use their loan services when I have need of them in the future. Highly recommend.

If you ever need to do business with a great local credit union - don't bother coming here. The tellers are an absolute disgrace. They seem to have an allergy to anything resembling customer service.

I got an auto loan through SLO CU years ago. At the time, I was repairing my credit after letting my ex destroy it. Nobody was approving me to finance a car, and my car at the time was barely making it day to day. I was a single mom, no good credit, and was fairly new in town. The wonderful staff at SLO credit union looked at me as an individual, not just a credit score. They looked at my financial situation as it was at the time, not holding mistakes I made at 18 against me 6 years later. Thanks to SLO credit union, I was able to get a reliable vehicle to help raise my son with. I of course paid the car off, and even made friends with one of the staff in the process. I've since left the area, but I will forever be grateful for the support and kindness of everybody there.

I was a member of SLOCU for two years and what I've taken away is that this bank is unable to take care of nearly any business outside of their physical building. Their online banking system is confusing and outdated, they have no means with which to verify transactions over the phone to take care of simple matters like changing an address, and they are very stubborn in their ways to change this.

Excellent customer service, just about every time I come in they say 'Hi Anna', and practically all I have to do is hand them the check I need to deposit, they already have my account up (since they know me), I don't have to fill out a deposit slip or anything. Diane the loan manager is very nice as well, she helped me with a small car loan to get my credit started, I had a couple of times where my financial aide was late or something like that, I called her to let her know my payment would be late and she said no worries, didn't charge me a fee or anything. If you want personal, friendly service. This is the place to go.
