Straight From the Heart is a fantastic thrift store that offers so much more than just great deals—it's a true community gem! As a grass roots non-profit, they've been supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families for over 26 years. The 100% volunteer staff, including the owner, are incredibly kind, hardworking, and committed to helping foster parents. They are truly an inspiration.
I love coming here, it is my favorite thrift store. The volunteers are always welcoming and they have an amazing selection of gently used/new clothing, shoes, toys, and accessories and their prices are very reasonable. Their Kid Pack Room is especially heartwarming, providing brand new items to foster children free of charge, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community members.
Straight From the Heart does a lot of good…….they offer free CPR and First Aid classes to caregivers, helping them meet licensing requirements and ensure the safety of the children in their care. The thrift store's sales help cover the center's expenses, allowing them to continue offering vital resources and support to foster families.
What makes this place truly special is the love and dedication of everyone involved. They provide opportunities for the children to come to the store and learn valuable skills. Yes, there are children here, and yes, they can make noise, but they are learning important life skills that will help them in the future. So please be patient and appreciate the hard work and dedication these amazing volunteers put into helping foster children.
I highly recommend visiting this amazing thrift store—you'll find great deals, you will be supporting a wonderful cause and you will encounter incredible, selfless volunteers with the most beautiful and compassionate hearts.

First off, this place is an absolute mess. NOTHING is organized. They have little kids running around playing in the middle of the store. All sorts of stuff on the ground. Feels like a hoarders house. Found a paperback book, price list clearly stated 50¢ for ALL paperbacks. Go to pay and the girl says $1. Again, the price list is ON the register. I asked why is it a dollar when its clearly stated otherwise. Her response,” Just cause”

This is a wonderful store, run by lovely and friendly people who care about their community. This store helps support the MUCHLY needed foster care system in our county, and the amazing people who are kind enough to help children in need. As well, there are a LOT of hidden gems here, and the prices are very reasonable.

I always love going to this store with my grandma! The prices are outstanding! I once got four shirts for eight dollars! Although there is some cute stuff here, there is sometimes ripped clothes, but otherwise, this is my go-to thrift store!

Published hours are incorrect. Came in today, Saturday morning, to find them closed. Only open on 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month??? I added a picture of the hours to the edit hour section.

Arrived well before their closing time, door was locked but sign said open as well. Shame, wanted to check this place out. Wish places stuck to their posted business hours as it’s an inconvenience/ waste of time.

Great selection of kid's clothes! Lots of everything actually. They're a non profit and the employees donate their time. I stopped in to donate some stuff and will return to see all the goodies. If you like thrift stores this is a great one!

I found Straight From the Heart via a post on the NextDoor app, and it’s my favorite thrift store! They have an excellent selection of kids clothes but I’ve also found some gems for myself (brand new Mother jeans for $8)!! This place gets all of my donations now and I love to stop by when my little guy is coming up on a new clothing size.

I accidentally stumbled upon this gem here in San Marcos. it’s a must for any thrifter. Most importantly these ladies volunteer and are the sweetest.I got these cute Christmas plate set for $12 score!
