I wouldn’t recommend this place for shipping fine art and here’s why.Insuring the item you want to send is waste of extra money at Newport Pack and Crate. They don’t by insurance from carrier so if carrier damage your original art you are screwed. They only have liability insurance witch your client check for damage while delivery man is standing there (which they won’t wait for client to open crate). Delivery receipt wouldn’t say that damage has to reported at the delivery time but they will tell you “that’s industry standard” to a customers who aren’t in the industry. They also don’t mention that at the time you purchase insurance.I end up getting my money from their liability insurance company because I kept all my email and talked to my lawyer.Business’ true quality shows when problem happens.

Zero customer service skills. I gave the necessary information about my items to be shipped and was told, to put it simply, that I should call back when I have more information about my items. Then the agent proceeded to tell me in a condescending manner that he was swamped. This is for the establishment—Please mention on your website that you do not wish to do business and *accommodate* questions about how things will be handled. Do not recommend.

Following a death in the family, I had some very sentimental items to be shipped. My items arrived safely and undamaged. I do not live in California, so I trusted that I had chosen a good and reliable company. Luckily, I did :). I would recommend this company.

We recently purchased a large bronze sculpture from an auction house in LA. We called NP&C to get a price on pickup, crating & shipping & got a quick response back from Chris. The price was good, pickup time & crating was speedy. They certainly know what they are doing & we would not hesitate to do business with them again for a future purchase. Chris stayed in touch with us till we received our 702# crate. We would highly recommend them for any services they offer!!

I've been using this company for the last 3 years for various crating/shipping and have always been happy with their services.Today, I had the most rude, unprofessional customer service experience to date. I called to ask how busy they were, as I was interested in dropping off materials for crating. In a rude, condescending tone, the response was, "uhh well ya, we're swamped" in which I responded, "uhm ok thanks" and hung up. None of that was terrible but this is where it got really bad.I couldnt help but feel uncomfortable with how the conversation played out. I called back to try to move forward with using their services regardless of the tone, not to continue the conversation in the same manneras it was headed before. When i called (I felt the need to explain because we had just spoke) that I had cut the conversation short because I felt his tone was rude/offensive , but also felt that we got off on the wrong foot. He laughed, proceeded to tell me that i need to grow some thicker skin, that hes sick and tired of everyone being so offended in the world, he doesnt need this, why did I even call back, and to go find someone else to pack my things. Then he actually did hang up on me. Sounds like top notch customer service am I right? RUDE. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Absolutely would recommend and will use them again! Our pieces of furniture came crated like priceless works of art. They were covered crated and made it to Hawaii from LA without a scratch. We are so impressed. Thank you!!

Called this place and asked for a quote - he said he was busy and asked me to send him a email. I sent him several emails he never answered one. I got another quote on the phone from mainstream shipper for a great price..Do not go do this guy, he is rude and does not know how to run a business..I had done business with this company before but never again...

Can't say enough good things about this company. I called them at the last minute for a pallet wrapping request for a shipment the next day. They didn't think they'd be able to help me, but they referred me to someone who they thought might (and ultimately did, excellently). They actually even offered to take a person off of an existing job to assist me if their recommended referral couldn't assist. Incredible people. Highly, highly recommended.

I needed to ship a large and very valuable piece of artwork across the country. I obtained 3 quotes in the Irvine/Santa Ana area. Newport Pack & Crate got the business. I met with Chris at their shop and he was professional , knowledgeable and efficient. They built an strong crate, and took care of the shipping quickly and accurately. Painting traveled 3000 miles and arrived quickly and safely. Because of the value of the item, they chose an appropriate service where the box would be stored in an appropriate warehouse at both ends, and was delivered with what I'd call "white glove" service (signature required). I would say this was a perfect experience for a nerve wracking situation. An added bonus: Newport P&C was very substantially less than the other 2 quotes for both building and shipping the crate. Since when do you find both quality and value at the same place? I recommend them without reservation for both quality and value. Thank you Chris!
