I was happy with Penske. The pickup process was easy and quick. Even though I arrived early, I got the truck I needed in less than 10 minutes. The price was fair and there were no hidden fees.

This rating is for Austin who works in Santa Clara. We have had several rentals from Penske, so we have had several trucks back and forth in the shop.The billing was a little hard to figure out, but Austin took the time to explain and go through each invoice with us. He took the time to research each question I had and get me the answers to my questions. Some trucks were on warranty and some just straight charges. I really appreciate the time he took over a few weeks to help me figure it all out and get everything straight going forward.It is hard these days to find great customer service, but Austin came through for us. He was friendly, professional and polite during the process.I recommend Penske to others looking for truck rentals.

I have been a client of Penske for about 2.5 years now with 2 box trucks on a lease.We have had multiple issues working with Penske. Starting with the fact that nothing that was told to us as "benefits" of working with Penske and having a lease with them was true. We had very few situations that they were able to provide what they promised 95%+ of the time they couldn't back their promises or anything they have in writing.On top of it, we have had extremely high charges to our account month after month for miles we didn't do. They would add about 14,000 miles to the invoices and charge us for it on months when the truck didn't even do 800 miles. These are big charges and they weren't the ones to fix it.We had to catch it and chase them for it each time. It took months to get the problem solved. In the meantime we were being charged ridiculous amounts non-stop. No compensation was provided.One of the new trucks they provided to us had a technical issue and we had to drop it off to them, at which point we decided to terminate the lease agreement and they agreed. Instead of terminating this on the agreed upon time they set the termination date weeks later. They charged us for the additional weeks we didn't even have the truck.We also have to pay insurance coverage for that period because they can't provide documents to show the stop of use as of the date that it was dropped off to them.Now that we agreed to just take the hit on everything they caused it was time for them to give us the deposit of $5,000 that we put down for the lease which they originally said will be returned to us upon termination of the lease agreement as long as no balance is due for the lease per truck.Guess what? now we need to fight for our deposit as well.I regret ever using Penske and would suggest to everyone trying to operate their business to find other alternatives. Penske was supposed to give us peace of mind, instead it is costing us way more than we every thought it will and there are absolutely no benefits that comes with it, in fact it is A LOT MORE WORK that you just added to your plate.Good luck.

The process was quick and easy. We misjudged the size truck we would need and Nick was cool about switching our reservation to a larger truck. He is very kind and professional.

Best darn service: Friendly and knowledgeable staffs. Brian was really helpful, he inspected the truck and explained to me the details. The trucks was in excellent condition. The whole process was fast and painless.I definitely recommend this place for rentals and will use them in the future...THANK YOU.

Huge charges and they weren't catching it or letting us know about it.We had to be super on top of it and catch it and chase them for it each time. It took months to get the problem solved. No compensation was provided by them.One of the brand new trucks they provided to us had a technical problem and we needed to drop it off to Penske, at which point we decided to just end the contract with them and Penske agreed. Penske was supposed to be peace of mind for us, instead it is costing us way more than we could imagine and there are no benefits that comes with it, it just added TONS of work for us to deal with and hours of wasted adminstrative work.Good luck.

I spoke with Bryan this morning from the Santa Clara location. He called to confirm my reservation. He was polite, professional and very knowledgeable of Penski’s product, pricing and services. He offered valid and appreciated solutions. He was a delight to speak with. You guys have a real gem with this man!Thank you Brian!

When the San Mateo affiliate location failed me, Joel at this official Penske location came to the rescue! I had a fairly disappointing experience at the other location, but thankfully Joel was there to help fill the gap for us and with great customer service to boot. We were able to get our furniture pads from here very quickly, in and out and would have opted to rent from here if we had known how much better the customer service would be!

Walked in to view a model of our 16ft truck and ask a few questions about our rental details. Joe was extremely helpful, showed us the truck, answered any questions we had and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Great customer experience.

Excellent quality & service, highly recommended!! I needed a one-way from Bay Area to Las Vegas, and didn't want to take any chances with a breakdown. Chose Penske and was very happy with decision. Truck was clean, relatively low miles (28k), available as promised, and at good price. Employees (call out to Cody and Brian) were extremely helpful at booking & pick-up. A class act all around. Be sure to ask for AAA discount, helpfully reminded by their staff. A couple of notes: I rented a 16', which looked big but was barely enough. Also I freaked out when return damage report showed "cab damage", which they said was merely a picture of the odometer mileage for the record, but apparently the computer auto-registered as "damage".
