They let you book an appointment and list what type of insurance you have, then you get there & they say Sorry, we don’t accept that kind of insurance.. Waste of time

This review is for the pharmacist Chappy (sp?). Since I've been having issues with my pregnancy, he's been the one primarily helping me out with my medication. After an eventful stint in the ER over some preterm labor symptoms, I was finally discharged home on time-sensitive medications to help prevent further contractions. Unfortunately there was a big screw up with my hospital outpatient pharmacy so they forwarded my script to Rivermark Safeway (long story). Rivermark was not informed it was a stat med, nor did my hospital even bother to check on the availability of the med knowing I had to take it soon. When I called Rivermark, they were so kind and understanding. Their hands were tied since they didn't have the med, so my husband and I went on to call random CVS pharmacies to see if they'd have the med available. Unbeknownst to us, Chappy was also checking on the inventory at other Safeway pharmacies on my behalf. That was really going above and beyond. Chappy connected with the Milpitas Safeway pharmacy and had the order expedited. That's truly the sign of a thoughtful and caring healthcare professional. He didn't stop at his job and say "oh well, not my problem" even though it wasn't his responsibility at all. Instead he helped a patient out during a stressful time. My husband and I were grateful and touched by his actions. I wish more people like him existed in the world.

They'll tell you one thing on the phone but when you come to pick it up they never have it ready. Said ready to pick up in 30 min on the phone, still was not ready 2 hrs later, had to wait in store another 20 minutes

Good staff and the Safeway Pharmacy allows walk-ins to take Pfizer vaccine booster shots if we go before 5pm, although there could be wait time if going without the appointment.

Made me wait even though noone was in line. I think another staff member even suggested to someone they should help me. Asked me questions and then cut me off before I finished answering. Did not get the impression of respect for the customer.

Haven't personally had any problems, staff is friendly enough and the line moves about as fast as one expects. Helpful with medication questions.

The staff at the Safeway in Rivermark Plaza have been courteous and pleasant the past several years I've been in the area. I would recommend their service and the local team.

Supposed to be open at 9am. I was waiting for over 10mins and finally someone came to open the counter. Told them I was waiting for over 10 mins and they seems to be thinking this is normal.

The staff is not courteous, specifically "jigna" in pharmacy appears to be on the very short and condescending. I'd rather order online and save the hassle, just not worth going here to be treated like s*** and wait forever to boot. The kicker is that she appeared to be "training" someone when this interaction happened :), so I guess that was her exemplary best?

Sharing a comment is a way of room for improvement but I really need to disagree what others people experiences. I give a KUDOS 5 Stars of the whole TEAM/STAFF OF SAFEWAY PHARMACY RIVERMARK . We need to know that there are things that need to be remember. Patience : upon submitting our prescription to the pharmacist or tech, they will do there best to contact the PCP and insurance to confirm the prescribed medicine and most of the times they also have to wait. We need to express always that attitude of understanding in order to know why we wait a certain time for our medications. Tip:: Always contact the pharmacy first or provide your cellphone number with them in order to get notification when your prescription is ready for pick up. Remember the old saying " PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE"!

We came to get some seasonal shots, took an hour end to end (yes, 1 hour). You get the idea. Come to this place if you need to kill a lot of time.
