I have been to many small towns with many nice ice cream shops, but this for by far the best ice cream I have ever had.The freshness of flavor, ingredients in the ice cream was just phenomenal.There chocolate is out of the world with million chips in each bite …. Strawberry was so fresh and full of strawberries bits … and pistachio was loaded with real pistachio…Absolutely loved this place … ??The lady on the window is also super sweet and kind. ?

Ice cream and service was wonderful. The older hispanic lady was the sweetest and very professional. Only downside is there are no chairs for sitting . Chocolate ice cream was very different from the norm and super DELICIOUS!

A little pricey but aside from that amazing natural flavors and big scoops! The Eureka lemon Oregon Marionberries was such a treat. The waffle cones were also fresh made and even though we got a single scoop they made sure to pile up a lot so it makes the money worth it. A must stop in Solvang, especially after dinner.

Variously flavored of ice cream, toppings, and crunchy waffle cones to choose. Very milky and mellow ice cream. The sweetness is absolutely perfect. Makes the area smell delightfully sweet.

Cute little ice cream shop in the heart of Solvang! There are tons of flavor to choose from and I really love the Earl gray and shortbread flavor, you can really taste the Earl gray! Their waffle cone was nice and crispy! There were no one in the line on a Friday afternoon!

Nice cute little ice cream corner that serves McConnell's ice cream here. It seems family-owned and is super easy to miss as it is in a small alley that you have to turn into. There is often a line though that is usually a good indicator that you've found the right location. In general, the ice cream is smooth and full of flavor. Perfect to enjoy as you're walking through Solvang or sitting in at the Solvang Park......SEA SALT CREAM AND COOKIES: 5/5sweet ice cream mixed with a hint of sea salt and bits of cookies together, but the salt and the cookies weren't too chunky in the mix which made it smoother and more enjoyable in my personal opinion.EUREKA LEMON AND MARIONBERRIES: 5/5a bit tart from the lemon and marionberries, but this tartness helps cut through the sweetness of the sea salt cream and cookies ice cream

Huge long line that took a solid wait - I think they were understaffed but also it was Christmas Eve so super understandable. Haven't had McConnell's ice cream before and I love the flavors they had. We tried the lemon and marionberry and my friend got the earl grey and shortbread. Both were great but the earl grey was so authentic and fragrant and pairs REALLY well with shortbread.

This place is so small and cute, my husband happened to see it in the back corner of the square. They had delicious flavors to choose from, decent prices, the ice cream is rich and creamy. Give them a try!

Scoop SexA side business of the Solvang Trolley & Carriage Company, this tiny, hidden gem specializes in ice creams, waffle cones, and housemade fudge. The Good:*Over 20 different flavors of McConnell's Ice Cream, which is handmade in Santa Barbara using only the finest ingredients (e.g., organic eggs, grass-fed milk, etc.) *They make all their waffle cones in-house, and they're fantastic! Just the smell of them alone is enough to draw us in, and they will not disappoint. *Customer service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The Meh:*They're still operating using covid procedures with ordering and pickup at the front windows and with no customers allowed inside. While I respect that they can do what they want, I still like to look at the ice creams before I make my selection; I find it helps me choose, even tho the look is kinda arbitrary. The Ugly:*Location is kinda funky and tucked away from the main road, but, as Toucan Sam® says, "Just follow your nose--it always knows!™" TLDR: Some damn, fine ice creams and definitely get the waffle cone!
