Location is perfect. Walking distance to everything. My only complaint was the room getting too hot & ac not cooling down the room, it’s understandable though since the rooms are older. We had the windows open but depending on your room you might not have privacy if they’re open.

We had a wonderful stay at Wine Valley Inn & Cottages. The room was spacious with beautiful decor. Free breakfast was included with courteous and helpful staff. We highly recommend Wine Valley Inn and Cottages in traveling to Solveng.

We were there for our honeymoon and it was the perfect place to be. The room was clean and cozy. We got a king Jr. suite so there was plenty of room. It rained a lot during our stay so the fireplace was definitely a plus. The staff is so gracious, the breakfast was delicious and we will definitely be back again. They gave us complimentary bottle of wine for our honeymoon, which we really enjoyed.

One of the best Inns we’ve stayed. The rooms were clearer than my own house.

We stayed here for my husband's birthday. The location is great and walking distance to anything in Solvang. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and very friendly. One problem was that our room (and most of the rooms) had little privacy in terms of the windows. Every window in the room looked out to the busy walkway-- kind of felt like a motel instead of a cottage. We felt like we had to keep all of our blinds closed for our privacy. That made for a dreary indoor setting. However, we actually didn't mind so much because we were just staying for one night and it was raining and dark anyway. The biggest problem (and the reason we probably won't come back) was the outside walkway lights. They stayed on all night and were very bright. The window coverings in the room are not black out curtain, so that we had to sleep (or try to sleep) all night in a room that was flooded with light. No way to block it out. I called the front desk in the middle of the night and asked if they had a way to turn off the lights--no luck. The bed was comfortable. But I would suggest bringing an eye darkening mask if you are planning to stay here.

I so enjoyed my birthday evening here. First off, I called to see if early check-in was possible as we'd be driving there soon after ending a night shift, and Shelly or Vicky made sure we'd have a possible room check in for 12pm.The ambience is perfect for me. We had the junior suite room that included a nice wood burning fireplace. The location is prime for the wine tasting and restaurants. We literally walked out of WVIC over to a restaurant within 1 to 8 minutes tops. The staff we encountered were professional, courteous, and personable. The room was clean, with all the beauty of a mildly modernized room via the upgraded bathroom, clean furniture with a great sofa pull out (top tier mattress as I despise despicable springy coily flimsy sofa bed mattresses), but still not losing the cottage type of feel. The overall inn was clean and organized. They even gave me a complimentary bottle of wine of my choosing from our room for my birthday. I will definitely be a frequent to Wine Valley Inn & Cottages.

I stayed one night, but after seeing it I would have love to stay two nights. Breakfast included simple but has the important thing: fruits, eggs, pastry, yoghurt and coffee.

We stayed in cottage 1 and it felt like a storybook. So beautiful and charming. We were enchanted with it.Pros: kind and helpful staff (especially the woman handling breakfast), beautiful property, amazing central location to all the Solvang shops and restaurants, beautiful and spacious, private hot tub (cottages only), free breakfastCons: cottage water pressure was absolutely terrible. 3yo started throwing up during the night and we suspect it’s from drinking some gulps of hot tub water so maybe not best for little kids.
