Very helpful and fast. Be aware, though, they only do smog checks Wed-Fri, and you need an appointment.

I don’t get the positive reviews. I was there twice and both times staff were unwelcoming/rude, impatient, not direct about pricing, and condescending. Definitely a hint of misogyny in the air. I called once between visits and whoever I spoked to was the opposite of the in-person experiences. Oh well. Won’t be back.

This business has proved itself to me many times over the years (with three different cars) . Today I discovered I had a headlamp out on my 2014 Prius. I thought I should replace both bulbs so I called Hansel, the dealership where I bought the car, to get a price. I thought it would be a simple, inexpensive job. The service department didn't know if it would require removing the bumper (which would add to the labor cost) even though I told him the exact year and model of the car. (I suspect he didn't want to bother looking it up.) He quoted $26 each for the bulbs plus $50 each for labor - with tax it would have been well over $160. I thought nooooo, let's see what Steve's Smog says. He said he could squeeze me in right away. The bulbs PLUS labor were $59 and I was out of there in five minutes. Steve's gets an A, Hansel gets an F. THANK YOU Steve's. (Please note, despite the name of the business, this is a full-service auto repair shop - they do everything as fas as I know.)

These folks are just awesome. I called in the morning to see if they could take walk-ins, and the polite gentleman on the phone told me that he had an appointment right now, and to come on over. 30 minutes later, I had a car that was smogged and all ready to go. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and polite, and they get the job done with no hassle, quickly. 10/10 I'd come back here to smog my car any day. ALSO, THEY SMOG DIESELS. Only Steve's and the Chevy dealership in town will smog diesels, nobody else at the time of this writing.

I had to get my cousin's car to pass smog in Sonoma after he suffered a medical emergency. It was a complicated situation that required a part on back order for almost two years and a permanent error code. I tried Steve's and I am so glad I did. Bernardo helped me every step of the way and solved a problerm that initially looked impossible. I live 2 hours from Sonoma, but if I were any closer, I would handle all of my automotive needs at Steve's! Thank you!
