The only aafex in Northern California, is located on Travis Air Force Base. Travis now requires visitors to be vetted.
Enhanced security check is required to enter the base. Every individual without a DOD TYPE ID will be vetted and issues a visitor pass. You must be accompanied by a person with a DOD ID and be vetted at the visitor center. There you will be provided with a temporary photo ID pass that will allow you to enter.
The EX appears to me to have been enlarged.
Larger sale space for appliances and tv's.

Long lines, under staffed, getting trashy (see pics) seriously need to hire more people.

Overall a great BX, gets a star taken for the AT&T guys who loom in the back and are a bit too pushy for my taste.

Values tax free for those eligible to AAFES shopping. Lots of items to select from cosmetics, shoes clothes, bedding, housewares, electronics and much more. Frequently have good sales 👍🏾

Very nice exchange with lots of options from different brands. Homedepot has a appliance section and ashley furniture has a section. Great for big purchases if you get a good price because no taxes.

Clean and well stocked. No physical cashiers but plenty of self checkouts. Another visit and same experience. The self check out lanes are plentiful.

As a veteran, I was expecting some deals? Maybe some overall savings? But, no, none of that here. Nothing exceptional about service or the merchandise itself.

This exchange is like any other exchange you go to. There's a panda express and Mexican restaurant in here. Perfesomspot to do some light shopping and have a quick bite.

I no longer get gas on base or use the Class 6. There are many gas stations in the local area that are much cheaper.
Alcohol is much cheaper at Safeway and Lucky's even after adding in the tax. Shop around. Unfortunately AAFES is okay with overcharging military members

Went here with my Mom to get some cosmetics she needed. It happened to be their 129th Anniversary. They built up the excitement by having a balloon drop at noon. So much fun and positive energy! Awesome job!
