This review is specifically for Dr. Topmiller. My Pomeranian came down with a cough and frequent reverse sneezing on a Saturday night. I took him to the VCA ER on Sepúlveda Blvd. I was worried it was possibly a collapsed trachea because the symptoms are similar and they are very common in small breeds. The ER only did an Xray on him with a diagnosis of "suspected collapsed trachea" and sent me home with hydrocodone and an airway dilator. They also referred me to an internal medicine specialist. Well the medicine they gave me wasn't working for him at all and he only got worse so I took him back and they gave me a steroid to add to his meds. Fortunately, my internal medicine apt with this VCA here in West Hollywood was the following day so I decided to hold off on the steroids. Dr. Topmiller was super nice and spoke to us for about 40min, answering all of our questions/concerns. She knew right away my pup was dealing with an upper respiratory issue and did a PCR test. She sent us home with the antibiotic Doxycycline and within 24hrs my baby was SO much better. So the ER doctors were wrong and Dr. Topmiller saved my little guys life. His PCR results came in and it turned out he had canine coronavirus and bacterial infection! I highly recommend this place! Exams at VCA can be expensive but this is why I stress the importance of getting pet insurance. Vet techs and front staff were also very kind. I would make Dr. Topmiller my dog's primary doctor in a heartbeat!

First time visit today. I adopted a cat from the West LA Shelter. The adoption fee included a certificate for a free examination at a VCA. I set an appointment with them last week and they were able to see us within a week. The front office staff (Analisa, Barbara etc.) were all very nice and friendly as were both vet techs (Doug and Adriana?). They were both gentle with and seemed to genuinely care about my cat. Dr. Gong was very nice and did a thorough examination. She's good with both the pet and their pet parent as well. She seemed very knowledgeable and was very thorough in her examination. The certificatie from the animal shelter covered the full cost of the exam and testing for FIV and FeLv. However, the cat was found to have a small subcutaneous lump by her stomach. The doctor recommended doing a needle aspiration and cytology to diagnose. They quoted me almost $500 for this procedure. I thought it rather high and have since did a little research. The price I was given is approximately double what is customary. For the past 6 years I've paid for a great home care veterinarian who has taken care of my last two cats. I pay good money for this service. I'm more than happy to pay for good service , just not double the going rate. VCA and Dr. Gong have a nice office, but given their prices I can't recommend them.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place has the worst management team and the Doctors work purely base on commission and the prices here are 5 times the amount at any other vet clinics. Don't waste your time or money here.

Worst veterinary office ever! Beware, don't go here. They don't care about your animal, you are just a number and a dollar sign. The staff is not friendly (Katt to be specific and a few others) and there is constant turnover with the vets and never enough coverage. Heaven forbid you show up a few minutes late, they will make you reschedule because they are in a "meeting". I once had to wait a whole extra hour and a half because they decided to have a staff meeting in the middle of the day, even though I was there for my set appointment time. Our animals are usually already traumatized enough with the whole vet experience, so to make them sit there and wait an extra hour and a half is unacceptable. And eight years ago, they paralyzed my previous cat after drawing blood, and sent him home with me without even telling me. It wasn't until I got him out of the carrier at home that I noticed he couldn't walk with his back leg. I only decided to give them another try recently for lack of other vets nearby. Big mistake!

They are like all the best healthcare providers today: How much money can we scam them out before they notice?A year's worth of Negard is discounted if you buy all twelve at once. They will only give you a prescription for three months, the most expensive option, with refills for a year. There is no legal reason for this policy, only greed.I asked for Doxycycline, a known cure for kennel cough that costs less than 20$. The doctor told me "it would not be effective at this stage," when there is no reason to suspect that, except the alternative he suggested is 185$.Also, other VCA institutions that are open will not acknowledge your pet's diagnosis, I must bring my pet in and do the same testing for the same price!Any institution that wants to scam patients is not worth your trust. Take your loved one elsewhere.

They gave my cat the best possible care and were so compassionate. I couldn't speak highly enough of this VCA and their staff. They comforted me in one of the most difficult diagnoses of cancer for my cat. They were so passionate and walked me through every possible step of care to make sure we made my cat as comfortable as possible. You can take your sweet fur baby here knowing the staff and vets care deeply.

We had a great experience with Dr. Feldman and his team at Los Angeles Veterinary Specialists. We self-referred because our elderly German Shepherd mix had a complicated liver issue and our primary vet was not sure of the diagnosis or what to do next. After doing some research online I found Dr. Feldman and I'm so happy I did. He reviewed the records from our primary vet, then did some tests of his own and it only took a couple of days for us to know exactly what's going on with our baby. Although the diagnosis isn't a happy one in our case, I really appreciated Dr. Feldman's candor and kindness when delivering tough news. He explained everything very well and laid out all of the options, even though none were very good options. We've elected to make our sweet girl comfortable for whatever time she has left, but we are so happy to know exactly what we're dealing with and what our expectations should be. Thank you, Dr. Feldman and Charlotte for your kindness and professionalism.

I can't say enough about how excellent this veterinary hospital is. Our pup Tinkerbell suffered a fractured clavicle and we brought her right in to VCA. The front office staff was so excellent and Dr. Lin took x-rays and diagnosed the injury immediately. We had a follow up with Dr. Jonathon who was excellent and assisted by medical assistant Amy. They have convenient parking in front of the practice and it is easy to get to on Santa Monica Boulevard in the center of West Hollywood. I recommend this practice and do not think you will be disappointed with the loving care they provide.

Incredibly thankful to all VCA staff, and specifically Dr Gong, for treating our toy poodle Loki. He accidentally ate sand on the beach on Thanksgiving morning - and when we noticed he wasn't feeling well, it was such a challenge to find a clinic that was open. The receptionist at VCA picked up the phone super quickly, and encouraged us to come in - and when we arrived, we were able to do an X-ray and leave Loki overnight to get an IV and be monitored. He recovered by morning, and we could not be more grateful. Highly recommend!

Called about a heart murmur, $220 deposit over the phone. No guarantee of service.
