Honestly, they got me in same day which was kind of amazing. And when I got there, I was immediately taken in and the MRIs went faster than normal. I doubt this is typical, but I appreciate it!

I went to Southlands Health Images for a L/S spine MRI on Monday July 14 and as of today Friday July 18th neither I nor my PCP can obtain the formal reading of the MRI.
This delay can impact my treatment and when I contacted the front desk minutes ago before writing this review I was told that turn around time was 7 working days ( exclude Sat and Sundays) and that certain reports if done at hospitals could take up to 5 weeks!
The staff at the center were courteous and efficient, but I can’t say that their radiologists are equally efficient if it takes them so long to render a report, perhaps they should consider hiring more radiologists.

Nice office and the people were nice but with me being in a walker I felt rushed and there was a little confusion on the time but they could have taking a little more time to go over something. I don’t know if I will use them next time.

I have had over 15 MRIs in the past 2 decades, some quite lengthy, all at Invision Sally Jobe. I have always been given adequate ear protection. Sometimes I’ve even been given music to listen to during the scan. Never have I been uncomfortable with the sound level of an MRI at Invision.
During my first MRI at Health Images Southlands on Monday evening, however, I was not given adequate ear protection, and I left with my ears and head aching. I was given only foam ear plugs before the scan began. After 2 minutes into the scan, I had to pause to request headphones because the sounds were too loud. The technician said he did not have headphones that would fit in the scanner for this particular type of spine scan. He tried placing some foam pieces near my ears instead. That was not enough to prevent my ears and head from aching for some time after I left the building. The experience was upsetting on top of the back pain I am having which necessitated the scan in the first place.
My suggestion is that the Health Images center purchase a pair of headphones that do fit in the scanner for that particular type of scan so that no one has to go without. Noise-cancelling headphones come in a variety of sizes and shapes.

I’ve been to this location a few times now for different imaging needs, and all the staff have consistently been friendly, but this time was by far the best! The nurse, Jessie, went above and beyond to communicate with me prior to my visit about how best to prep for my scan, what to expect before, during and after, and made sure that I was comfortable and informed about exactly what was going on. I really appreciated the extra care she took to put my fears to rest.

UPDATE: Angela, the Area Manager, called me and was able to talk with me through everything. I’m updating my review because although what happened yesterday was disappointing, as a company they wanted to remedy the situation and ensure I felt respected and valued. I can’t think of many companies that strive to do that. I left the call feeling much better about everything! Also, I found out the name of the very kind staff member is Maria- thank you Maria for being so wonderful!
I’m sure the front desk staff is checking to see if this post is made or not, and I can’t not say something with how shocking of an experience I had today. My husband needed to get an X-ray and we were unable to find a way to not go with him as a whole family (inclusive of my 3yr old and 1.5yr old). When we first got there we had the kindest staff member help us out, and I really wish I knew her name because she really was so sweet. We ended up waiting about 30 min which she did say we would wait. In that time, my girls ended up seeing two other kids there and were enjoying saying “hi” to them while they all were eating some snacks. They exchanged more than a handful of “hi’s” back and forth. No staff member told us they were being too loud, and I even looked behind the desk and a few of the ladies were smiling and giggling. Well, my husband gets called back and my girls go to follow him (assuming they’d be able to go with). I start walking over to grab them and my youngest starts crying asking for her Daddy. I pick her up within seconds and she stops crying… within seconds (she’s 1.5yr old and human- they cry ??♀️). An older lady stands up from behind the desk, stares straight at me, and tells me “you need to quiet them down, we’ve got calls coming in and the noise is hard.”
I IMMEDIATELY take both my kids outside and have a conversation with them about lowering their voices and respecting the space around them. I walk back in to grab my car keys so I can just keep them outside the rest of the time and I tell them as I was leaving “if you guys told me sooner I would’ve definitely taken them outside” with an incredibly calm and understanding voice. The prior mentioned lady stands back up again and yells as I’m walking out the door something along the lines of “WELL IF YOU PARENTED YOUR KIDS AND PAID ATTENTION TO THEM!!”
I simply responded with, “I’ll make sure I’m able to talk about my experience. Thank you.” With the same calm voice as stated above. She responds back with “Thank YOU!”
I can wholeheartedly say that I have never had an experience like this. I was given such an intensely harsh response to my kids simply being kids. They weren’t being rude, they weren’t breaking things or running around the whole place wild. The shocking thing to me was if it was a problem in the beginning with them saying “hi” to the other kids, I truly would’ve loved if they said something as I absolutely would’ve taken my kids outside as I did after they told me. But they waited till my husband left and I was alone to say something. I end up going outside and my husband came out all of about 4 min later. He had no idea what had just happened and when I told him he said “well that’s weird because when I was walking out I saw about 6 of them all huddled together behind the desk. I apologized the girls were being a little loud and the lady that helped us was like “oh no, it’s totally okay.” So, something that was bothering the one lady for over 30 min, she waited till she knew my husband would be done within minutes to say something.
I felt so uncomfortable and violated by who I am as a mom.
Safe to say, we will never return back here and I will absolutely be sharing my experience with people.

Specifically asked if I could wear my own clothing during MRI. Was told it wouldn't be a problem. Took day off from work to come in and get MRI done, they demanded I put scrubs on. When I advised I mentally could not change into them they stated it was their protocol and I could not get my MRI unless I got changed into them. Wasted my time and cost me a day at work to boot. Absolutely ridiculous when I came in nothing but t shirt and leggings. Called and spoke with manager Angela trying to find a resolution so I could get the MRI to get the care I need. They said it is policy and there is no way around it. And then proceeded to scoff at me at the end of the call when I didn't answer her immediately. Zero compassion for the patient whom was VERY CLEARLY having a full blown anxiety attack.

DO NOT GO HERE. This place canceled on me twice. Once because they broke their MRI machine the second time because they overbooked. Now this is my third time trying to go here and I was late so they refused to see me. The female desk associate was extremely rude and had no compassion at all. If you have the misfortune of having to go here avoid her at all cost
