My initial experience with Canvas has been awful. I have been a member for 6 years with and my credit score is back to what it was 6 years ago. I would rather pay high interest rates than having to deal with what they've already put me through.

My account was set up for overdraft protection. For unknown reasons it was not applied to the one account I needed it for. I keep a minimum balance in that account because I didn't want it in the first place but was told I had to have it anyway.An inadvertent charge to that account resulted in fees for Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) but, because it didn't result in a negative balance, the credit union didn't bother to alert me. They just charged me an overdraft fee.Since I wasn't aware of this, another inadvertent charge to that account resulted in another charge for NSF. I only learned this because this second merchant alerted me that the purchase was declined. The credit union again failed to alert me about this and once again they charged me more fees.When I went to the credit union to sort this out I was told it was because I failed to set up my account correctly to begin with, which is false. I signed up for overdraft protection, but apparently the personal banker didn't bother to apply it that one account. Now I have a bounced check fee from the merchant and have to go through extra hoops as a result of the credit union's error.The icing on the cake was the many eye rolls from the bank clerk when I tried to figure out and correct these issues. I guess he had better things to do.I used to like Canvas, but their lack of accountability and poor customer service are disheartening. Buyer beware.

My car was totaled 11/14/23. MY Insurance company sent a check for all of it except roughy 1800. I then canceled my warranty on my vehicle and use my gap insurance. The warranty check was 12/14 And the gap was sent 1/6. Canvas has still not applied this check to my account. After his numerous calls to canvas daytell tallay. It takes a while because it has to filter down through the different departments. I had those first two checks canceled. And have had them resent With tracking numbers. The balance would have been paid off except now. I recruit almost two months worth of interest due to their lack of inner office mail. The two letters with the tracking numbers have been delivered 2 weeks ago. Canvas is deliberately taken their time to recruit more interest on their we have. Do not use this bank for an auto loan. I will be contacting the federal trade commission if these 2 checks are not credited.Within a week. Sitting on checks to collect interest is illegal.

Worst mistake ever was getting into putting my money into these places banks, credit unions don't matter both a scam to me I'm about to start putting my money into my safe again so many hidden fees that they say you signed up for but never go over it when you sign up for a account and the credit never helps where at least banks do upon noticing unauthorized charges to only find out it's the credit union but the charge says home supplies and it's canvas charging me a fee you better off getting overseas account or just putting it in your own safe at least it's what you put in you can get back out I don't recommend banks or credit unions there aren't any good ones and don't get me wrong I haven't had a issue with any rep or customer service agent these hidden fees and policies they don't tell you about until it's already took out your account I applied over the phone and a "Safety Net" was never explained or told to me about that's apparently added to my account that I specifically signed up for, no I just wanted a regular checking account and they still even added a savings account that I never asked for even on the initial application online I never checked savings account I'm done with financial institutions may all the banks and credit unions fall.

Find elsewhere. Long lines staff is a mess. Oh, if you owe this bank and they close your account they won't re open your account btw even after you make Good. So if you get convinced to pay off that account you owe on at a time when money tight but the staff is like " pay on it we will see" Nope they just trying to collect. So you fork up $ you need get no account reopen, when u could pay later when your more able.If you still want to re open You have to submitt a letter explain why the account was closed basically tell them your business and they determine. This is how this credit union works fyi.

Canvas is a bank not credit union, don’t use they are trash. They used to be public service credit union and they were great now as canvas they are a bank pretending to be a credit union. They are trash using the funds on advertisements instead of giving better rates. Use any other one but this one . Trash canvas

Had to wait in line for so long each time I come in here of course but I don’t mind that usually but today I waited in line which was out the entrance door and it moved so slowly was there for 20 mins missed my bus and then when I get to counter the worker tells me you don’t have debit cards even though you’re a bank no debit cards???? She barely is helpful and is pretty much just like nothing I can do sorry so I’m like why did I wait in that line for years ??? I wish you had someone at the door like usual there’s always someone checking ids or asking why I’m coming in here and this time no one it would of helped to know the card machine is broken maybe put up a sign at least so people don’t waste their precious time they can never get back thanks !?

I was finally able to get the cashier’s check I needed to pay my rent. It was so quick and easy. They were nice and helpful. They have the options for those who are in the credit union network to bank here.
