John is a sweetheart! it usually takes about a week to get clothes back and prices are very reasonable. my last tailor was taking 3 weeks to get anything back so I switched!

I get the dude is 900 years old but he literally refused to tailor my tux jacket because he "thinks it looks fine". Old man, I do not care what you think about how it looks, I asked for specific cuts and you basically told me it doesn't need it. What a moron. Went around the corner and got that tux tailored to perfection!

I like to thrift and usually need some alternations! I like quality at a reasonable price❣️ Always pleased with the Alteration Lady (?)My Mom & I have been getting all our alterations done here for 10+years. Hems, shoulders, cuffs…But most importantly and impressive if he can’t do it perfectly well, he will tell me it’s not worth it!

I am so upset. I took in a very good quality leather bag which was lined and asked for a top zip to be added. They said they would give me a price and I had brought the zip in and showed them how I wanted it done- basically a whip stitch I could have done myself. Well when I came back to pick it up after them quoting me $70 I said NO and I picked up the bag and they had USED A SAFETY PIN TO STICK THE ZIP THROUGH THE OUTSIDE OF THE LEATHER BAG. OMG why couldn't they just put the zip IN the bag or even attach it to the handle like they had before??? Anyone that has ever worked with leather knows you NEVER put holes in a leather bag if you don't intend to stitch there. EVER. He commented that "it was old and I should just get a new one" when I had dropped it off but NO ONE has leather this good quality on the market and I am not about to buy a cheap leather bag to replace one that is perfectly good. I keep my bags for DECADES. I don't know if I should chalk this up to incompetence or if he was actually trying to ruin the bag on purpose. I will not go here ever again.

Damn Nice Work
I got a hooded fleece jacket at half price from REI because it had a small split in the hem between the shoulder and the hood. I took it to the Alteration Lady, and the man at the front of the shop examined it, first by tearing apart the split hem by several more inches. I was aghast. Then he said, "Come back next Friday," and handed me a bill for about $5. Less than a week later, I picked up the jacket. It took an intense, deliberate inspection to find where the split hem had been.
Epilogue: I flippin' love this hooded jacket (shameless product promo: It's the Mammut Chamuera, and I get no commission from this), and as a man who keeps his thermostat at 65F in the winter, I wear it around the house almost every day. It both looks fantastic and feels cozy. If not for the Alteration Lady, I wouldn't be enjoying my home life nearly as well. I already have more marginally damaged clothing that I plan to get repaired at the Alteration Lady. What a great deal, and way to save money!

For many years we plus our extended family have gone to The Alteration Lady
and have always been pleased with what was done.. We have had many hems
shortened,and sides of dresses and jackets altered smaller and larger. I'm sure
this alteration Lady can do just about any job you have. The prices are right
and the work is expertly done.
