I took my jewelry in last week to have it appraised and it was a BREEZE! Everyone there was lovely and I walked out with a check.. It's easy to get to in Cherry Creek and I felt like I'd "made a friend in the jewelry industry " () Thank you David! .

I had a great experience with David Ellis. I took several items in. Some he was able to come up on, some he wasn't. Pretty straightforward. Overall, I got a reasonable price for my items, gained some education, and had a very enjoyable time.Tip: educate yourself about the jewelry business before you go here (or anywhere else) Most of the unhappy reviews are probably the result of expectations set too high.PS. I only gave 4 stars because nobody gets full retail. Haha

I bought a ring from David in 1991, when he was downtown on 16th street, and upgraded it twice in the 90's then bought another ring in 1997. I went to see David at the Cherry Creek store a few days ago and was delighted that he is still providing fair, honest and friendly service to the people of Denver. We had a good chat and he fixed me up, again. Thanks David!

This place gets a 0 from me! I had to give them a one star because you can't post a review without a star! They lowball you and they are very rude! If you want to sell jewelry or silver or gold, do not go to David Ellis! If you tell them that another jeweler gave you a higher bid, they will tell you to go back to the other place! They are very disrespectful and have no compassion! They shouldn't be in business!

We found some silver serving sets and coins so we took 3 boxes of stuff down to David Ellis Cherry Creek. We were lucky to find an open parking spot in front of the store, which was good for my elderly mom as well as my back for toating in the boxes. Max greeted us right when we walked in the door and let us know we were safe while he was on duty. The staff began going thru all the silver serving sets we brought in, setting aside those items they deemed as having a market value. Nothing left our sight. We had lots of coins and the staff separated out valuable coins with silver vs coins we should just take to the bank and put back into circulation. After about an hour, they totaled up an itemized value of what they would pay my mom and offered me the calculator to check their figures. My mom was very happy with the offer and accepted. They wrote out a check, which my mom deposited later in the day. I would refer anyone to this establishment for great service and what would consider as fair value and honesty when it comes to helping and elderly parent turn coin collections and wedding gifts from years gone by into cash. If you were to feel uncomfortable carrying in valuables by yourself, go into the store first and ask if Max could help escort you and your goods into the store.

I have done business with Mr. Ellis since 2002. Over the years I have found him to be strait forward and honest. He has always explained his pricing. He has always treated me with respect and greeted me with a smile. I have referred my friends to him over the years and no one has ever complained to me about him, his store, or their transaction.I have no reservation referring others to him in the future. He’s the jeweler I will continue to buy from.

Always friendly service and great conversation with David and his team. If you are looking to buy or sell gold in Denver, this is the place.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Scammers and con artists. Will switch out your diamonds with white sapphires and tell you your ring is worth nothing. Will give you a check that they stopped payment on it. Disgusted with them. They take advantage of elderly people!!!!!!

Mr. Ellis himself is very rude and condescending and doesn't seem to care for people who aren't as financially well off as he seems to be. I went in to try and sell my watch and he belittled me and then told me to f myself. When I called, he got on the phone and again insulted me. This is a very poor excuse for a business and Mr. Ellis is a discredit to the retail industry.

The other reviews below are not surprising with how disrespectful David can come acorss. I guess it's the amount of years he's been in business that he feels he has the "right" to treat people this way. I should have listened to my gut before purchasing an engagment ring with him. I read the reviews and felt they were more directed to his purchasing arrogance than his selling. But I have been proven dead wrong. After asking for a Sapphire style ring, he showed me something that was not even close to what I was looking for, but with his and his colleagues persuasiveness, I felt pressured into agreeing. A few weeks later after it not sitting well with me I requested he go back and find what I was always asking for and wanted. He agreed and did end up finding me the ring I wanted. The caveat...we had to pay $2000 more for it. Well I guess it was because it was "nicer". Oh and GIA certified. However, 6 months after the purchase of the newer ring, my partner and I decided to seperate. As a result I did go back and ask David if he would take the ring back. He said he wouldn't as there are no "return" policys'. Heartbroken I understood they had to follow their rules but I was hoping there was something he could negotiate. But I had the ring and decided to get it appraised....only to find out the ring was worth $2000 total. I had it appraised by multiple, crediable, certified jewlers who told me I got swindled. We paid $15k for a ring that is worth a total of $2k. What a joke. I understand mark up but this is fraudulant to say the least. I will be pursuing other avenues of recourse but please, I beg you if you are reading this review, DO NOT give your money or your time to this person. Not only will you feel better about the process but you will know you are not being ripped off. And David, if you are reading this and want to write a nasty response in return, as you do with all your other reviews, I welcome it because I am not scared of you.

Waste of my time, I called and asked for an appointment to look at two diamond ringsi own and he said just come down. Then when I get there he takes two seconds to say that he's looking for something specific. If that's the case why not disclose this when I have you on the phone? Instead of driving down from North arvada? Thanks for wasting my time David

Wanted to purchase a brand new, $8,000 flawless Omega, worn only once, and with papers, for $1500. That’s all you need to know. Run, don’t walk.
