I went in today to get some lumber for my boyfriend’s newest project. When I was in the department I noticed that you had only one worker doing what should be labor for two or more people. I then noticed what kind of labor they were doing. I saw the physical load of what they were moving and cutting all on their own; let me just say, I was appalled to say the least. Then I stopped by the hardware department and found myself in the same situation. Only one person if anyone at all in the whole area. I’m writing to let you know that I personally believe that you need to disperse your workers to this area more and not leave one person in charge of that much. Or at the very least hire some part time help. I hope that you consider this review as an important suggestion for ways to better improve your business as well as your employee’s ability to manage and improve.

I am a frequent flyer of Home Depot in East Haven. It's never difficult to find someone to help, even at self service areas.
My only gripe is on one of my recent trips, I was there to buy a self propelled push mower. None of the brands I would have preferred to buy were offered in store - and most of what they had to offer were electric, yet none of the gas ones were key start.
Additional kudos 6/6/2025:
I bought a mower on 4/29. I had used it 4-5x when this week when trying to pull start it, it just made a whining sound and didn't give much resistance when pulling the line. Even though it was just beyond the 30 day return period they still honored doing an even exchange, and Clay was very helpful in getting the original one out of my vehicle and putting the replacement in. I also found that they cannot accept tips. Shame, he definitely earned one! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I needed 10/3 wire, in the online app it said it was on sale but only for in store purchase. I drove 20 mins to store, see that all lengths for the 10/3 are discounted. I grab the one I need, try to check out and shows no discount. The "head" of electrical dep. comes over and tells me that it's not on sale. We walk over so I can show him, at no point does he apologize for it being "mislabeled ". The whole time he is just rude and passive aggressive like it's my fault for thinking the wire was on sale.
Apparently all 4 different lengths of the 10/3 wire weren't supposed to have the yellow ticket. So he simply removed them and said the discount was available online. When I had already told him I didn't have the option to do it online. This was a very aggravating experience because I can understand if someone made a mistake along the way but to take no responsibility or empathize with me wasting all this time and making no real effort to help me.
I'll have to be in desperate need of something to come back here.

Ive almost never had a good experience here. Whether it be them saying they have a item in stock when its not, or them canceling an order with no notification, to long wait lines bc they have minimal coverage. I avoid this location at all costs. I normally drive out of my way to go to the lowes in new haven

This store is going down hill FAST. This image is just a sample of what the store REALLY looks like. Senior management needs to really step up in the location and do better it's down right embarrassing. Lowe's is a MUCH better option, it's clean organized and doesn't have 20 illegal immigrants standing outside looking for work. From the regional manager to the district manager to the store manager you should all be ASHAMED of letting this location that services thousands daily turn into such a disappointment.

That woman Rae seems to enjoy harassing her coworkers. I’ve witnessed this several times, today was no exception. Company seems to allow it. Not a good look especially when these are the first people you see when you walk into the store.
How does this woman still have a job?

I have to give John from the pro desk a credit , he is amazing , took care of our order , made sure I got the right stuff , made sure all gathered for pick up , I had a very complicated order and he did it like nothing, i appreciate his patience with us and his help so much thank you John
