Van Wilgen's Garden Center is a sprawling, family-owned garden center established in 1920. It is a huge place with a vast and amazing selection of plants, including indoor and outdoor varieties, annuals, perennials, veggies, and house plants. They offer pretty much everything needed for a home garden, from mulch, gardening supplies, and tools to bird feeders, bird baths, and shepherds hooks. They also have a variety of plant containers and a nice gift shop with items like holiday ornaments and bird houses. The experience is always pleasing, with wonderful bright colors greeting visitors. The facility includes a greenhouse with a waterfall and a coy pond for relaxation. There is a little play area for kids. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help, which is especially helpful for beginners. Helpful signs explain how plants are grouped by sun needs. They have a great rewards program and a plant warranty with a purchase of their transplant topsoil and special plant food. Prices are reasonable. They are highly recommended and well worth a visit, offering a wonderful feast for the eyes and soul.
