We've been going to Ridgehill Animal Hospital since 1997, so we feel we truly know this place well, and we're happy with the care given. We especially love Stacy at the front desk, she's kind beyond kind, and we love Dr. Moruzzi, she is a treasure, she's unbelievably knowledgeable, skilled, patient and kind. We adore her, she's taken care of our pets for almost ten years now. We just got a new puppy and she has given us excellent care as always. She made her spay surgery with hernia repair an easy experience and recovery for our puppy. She also took care of our love, our Coco, who was the best girl, she was a rescue, she was up in age, and Dr. DiLeone cured her Mast cell tumor, and later Dr. Moruzzi kept her well for years with Cushing disease, she also repaired Coco's knee with a TPLO surgery that was a complete success!! Sadly, yesterday at 15+, we had to say goodbye to our Coco, she developed a heart murmur that caused a stroke, it was time, a decision that broke us to make, we had to rely on a vet we didn't know, over the holiday week, but we have to give a huge thank you to Dr. Everett!!! She is incredible, she told us what we needed to know to make the right decision, she stayed with us through the whole process, she gave us time to grieve, to say goodbye as a family, and she did it with great knowledge, compassion and love. We will always be grateful for her, she was like an angel of mercy who walked into the room and held our hands through it all, making sure that our baby was given a graceful and painless experience as she went to the other side. She was held by her whole family, and had love and respect around her the entire time. We should all be so lucky to have a final send off like that!! Thank you to these angels for keeping our girl healthy and happy through the years, and thank you for helping her in the end too, the team at Ridgehill were part of protecting a beautiful life and we are grateful.

Ridgehill has been taking care of my pets ever since I was a little kid. The veterinarians and office staff have changed since, but still remain wonderful and caring. I'm never pressured into excessive testing or expensive procedures, but instead given options and support. I have one semi-feral cat who doesn't like being handled. I was concerned but they assured me they could sedate her with some gas before taking her out of the carrier, if necessary. Of course my next fear was cost but it was fairly inexpensive to sedate her. Now that I've moved an hour away, I continue to use them as my primary vet (there is an emergency vet closer if needed). It's worth it to me to bring my cats somewhere I trust. They aren't stressed after a vet visit. And the dogs at the vet always come in with tails wagging and happy to be there (I remember my dog loved the vet too).

After years of sickness, yesterday I had to lay my Buster to rest. He was my forever dog. From the minute he arrived on the adoption caravan from Tennessee, we connected, and I think he loved me as much as I loved him. A special thank you to Ridgehill Animal Hospital, Dr. Pierce and the staff; they were so great caring for him since we moved to Hamden 11 years ago, and yesterday they were so gentle and caring. Rest In Peace my baby ❤️

Dr. Pierce has been a god send. Over the last year I lost 3 elderly cats due various diseases. I had these cats my entire adult life. She supported us, made sure my babies and I were comfortable, and always made time to see us. Even when I felt like I overreacted about a symptom, she never made me feel that way. It was beyond comforting knowing my vet had our best interest always in the forefront. She loved my babies like her own, and for that I will forever be thankful. ❤️

I would like to thank you not only for your compassion today during one of the most terrible days a pet owner can have but for keeping him healthy and happy for his whole life. Thank you again.

We've been bringing our dog here for annual checkups for years with no problems, but we're really disappointed in how they (especially Dr. Fracasso) handled his recent health issue. We brought him in for an emergency appointment because he had been in pain for several days and could barely walk. They prescribed a low dose of muscle relaxers (no painkillers) and were super condescending and indifferent when we called back after his condition worsened. The secretary of all people tried to give medical advice, saying he just needed to wait it out. When we brought him in for a follow up, Dr. Fracasso didn't want to perform an x-ray and showed no compassion at all for his condition. She carelessly picked him up with one arm and plopped him down on the table several times when his legs were clearly causing him so much pain that he had body shakes. Not surprisingly, the x-ray did show an issue that he is currently being treated for and may require surgery later. Only giving two stars because we've had good experiences with his regular vet, Dr. Mariano. We don't recommend any of the doctors here and will probably switch offices after this experience. Consider bringing your pets somewhere else that actually cares about its patients.

We had to make the decision to put one of our dogs down. The option was a pricey surgery with no guarantee of any quality of life. This was not an easy decision to make. When we called to make the appointment the Dr. tried to convince us to pay for the surgery. When we declined we got a phone call from the owner saying that they could lower the price of the surgery. This is a terrible practice. Deciding to put an animal down is a hard enough decision - their persistence to get even more money from us was heartless and downright cruel. I do not recommend bringing your animal here.

I've brought my pets here for several years and we've had nothing but wonderful treatment. The desk staff is very helpful and accommodating. I've never had a problem with any of the doctors or the techs. My dog recently died and I received a heartfelt call from the owner followed by a sympathy card. My only issue is that my dog, an American Eskimo was beyond shaking when she went there for a checkup. Even a tranquilizer didn't help. And when we had to wait a while it was very difficult. Having said that, it finally occurred to me to check in without the dog (leaving her in the car), returning back to my car and they would text me when a room was ready. This way I didn't have to tranquilize her & it was better. Wish I had thought of this years ago! All in all a very good place
