Question for the Farmer...when I was a kid in the 80s ole man farmer Doyle said, 'you bring me a carton with my name on it and you can pick your own eggs.' Does this deal still apply for old friends?

I’ve bought dozens of eggs from my local krauszer’s that come from this farm and ALL but one dozen have been double yolk eggs. Equal parts weird and awesome.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, I purchased 2 dozen Doyle's Jumbo White Eggs at Walsh's Market for Lent. First, I rarely shop at Walsh's because it's on the other side of town. Second, I almost always buy jumbo BROWN eggs because at one time, they used to say that brown eggs were fresher so I guess it became a habit. But the Doyle's white Jumbo's were half the price of the brown on sale so that's what I bought. Here's the scoop: at 61, I have NEVER cracked a double yolked egg; the odds of that happening are 1 in 1,000. Today, out of 6 eggs cracked, FOUR were double yolked!! I looked it up on several websites, and learned that the odds of getting 4 double yolked eggs in a row from the same cartoon are 1 in a TRILLION!! And the eggs were fresh and delicious, and extremely rich. They say double yolks are good luck: not sure about that, but I'm never buying any other eggs from now on!! (The pictures were taken today, 3/12, of the second half of the dozen described above. As you can see, this time, 2 of the six eggs were double yolked, which means that 6 out of this dozen eggs had double yolks. The odds of that happening? ASTRONOMICAL!!).

The best eggs! If you’re in a Stamford, you can find them at the Latham Park farmer’s market on Saturdays.
