Don't bother assuming this place is open 24hrs. Closed at night all the time. Find somewhere else to go for your late night snacks. Update: here again, closed again. I want to buy stuff and give you money but I guess this location doesn't want my business. It is NOT 24/7!

This place use to be one of the best 7-11's around the area but I'm not sure what happened (perhaps new management?).The slushie machine always seems to be broken unless its 20 degrees outside and to cold for someone to want one. They always seem to be out of something and this place recently has become a hotbed for local crime with the homeless and gangs of teenagers standing outside begging and threatening for customers to give them money.Your patrons shouldn't have to worry about their safety just to purchase a few items.Seriously get yourselves together and get a police presence set up.I spoke to the cashier and she knows that this place has gone down hill as well.

Walked in at 6 a.m. on a Monday morning needing to use the restroom before boarding the metro. I would have been fine with purchasing something in order to use it if need be but in asking one of the workers where the restroom was the response was we don't have a bathroom. To which I said oh really so where do you go to the bathroom? And he proceeded to stand there and ignore me. If you have a policy against customers using bathrooms I can understand that however standing there and flat lying to my face and then ignoring me is not appreciated. I went over to the cashier told him that his other employee is rude and he's learned some manners and left. The cashier look like he was trying to think of what to tell me. I will not be shopping here. Don't appreciate being lied to. There are restrooms inside the metro for patrons, should anyone be in a similar predicament. 7-11 that was pathetic.

It is silly to rate a 7-11, but seeing as how I wrote a review for a bad 7-11 in Towson, it's only fair I give props to this good 7-11 in Takoma. My first week in town I had a laundry emergency whereby I was doing laundry at a friends house but her dryer broke so I had to haul 3 loads back to my building to use their dryers. I had not planned on doing laundry that day so I had almost no quarters. I ran to the Takoma metro and bought a metro card just to get change (which they used to give in quarters) but discovered that now they give their change in dollar coins. Desperate, I ran to the 7-11 and pleaded my case for quarters even offering to buy something. The guy there gave me around $5 worth of quarters and didn't even ask me to make a purchase. Needless to say, that warmed my heart and won my loyalty. Because of how nice he was, I generally feel good stopping here for the occasional coffee, hot cocoa and other snacks. Whenever I come here, the staff is usually friendly/smiling. My only criticism of this place (and the reason I don't come here more often), is that it is absurdly crowded on weekday mornings. There are only 2 registers and the lines are long. I am usually rushing to get on the metro in the morning. If there were less of a line, I'd come here daily for some morning coffee (it's a very small detour from my house), but the wait takes so long (usually more than 5 minutes on line) that now I just hold off on coffee until I get to work. I wish they could add another register or something to deal with the morning rush.

I know it's kind of silly to review a 7-Eleven, but this the best one I have ever been shopped at. Best beef patties.

typical 7-11. They could do something about all the homeless folks who hang out front, but the place is clean and well run.
