Been there a couple times now and have always been happy with my haircut. Ernesto seems like a nice guy and won't talk your ear off if that's something you're concerned about. I plan to continue to come here for my haircuts.

The place is right outside the metro station which is a plus. Good clean place, nothing fancy. Decent haircut for $30.

I will try to be brief. After being a loyal client for 22 years, Adriana, the hairdresser at Ernesto's, "fired" me for needing to change an appointment, soon after spine surgery, and It was only the second time in all of those years I had ever asked to postpone an appointment. I had always tipped Adriana 20%, and sometimes more, for her work, and gave her very nice Christmas gifts (Including a suede jacket, this year), every year, without fail, even after I moved away from this area - I considered her a friend, a feeling that was obviously hardly mutual. I cared about Adriana and her family, quite naively, I now realize. We live and learn, and I certainly am no "spring chicken," but I sure can still be fooled about people's character and this time it hurt pretty significantly.

Last summer the barbershop I HAD gone to downtown for eons became a casualty of the pandemic, and there I was without a barber. Since I am at Van Ness often, I tried out Ernesto's. To my surprise I found a wonderful, "real deal" Italian barber right here under my nose. How have I missed this for so long?. He has taken great care, and given great haircuts ever since. Clean, locally owned, no-nonsense shop. High quality work, too. Ernesto handles the men, and the lady (don't have her name, yet) takes care of the ladies. Don't bother with chain / franchise shops, the real thing is right here.......

I have been going to Ernesto's hair salon for 19 years. I cannot say enough good things about the consistent quality of the haircut and the excellent customer service. His prices are extremely reasonable. He must be good if I have been going here for so long!

I've been going to Ernesto's for years. Ernesto is friendly, skilled, and experienced. I heartily recommend that men (i have no idea about women, whose hair is styled by Ernesto's daughter) give him a try.

The best hairdresser in town. With a career of 40 years of cutting hair, Ernesto has probably more than 150,000 hair cut on his resume. With that impressive track record, you can't go wrong.

Adriana has been coloring and trimming my hair for over ten years. After I walk out of the salon, for days friends and acquaintances go out of their way to tell me how good I look. The salon itself is clean, comfortable and well-lit. The vibe is friendly neighborhood. The staff are always upbeat and easy to deal with. The prices are reasonable. When those roots start showing, I am always glad to take a break and go in for a relaxed positive experience.
