I love this place. I've been coming here for years. I think the new owners took over 3 years ago and since then they have done a great job. They renovated the space and have it welcoming and open.I always go there for beer and wine and quirky snacks. They have a wide selection of craft beers and the staff are always helpful. Even though they might not carry the product I am looking for, they always make an effort to get it for me next time. Love coming in and talking soccer with Raj.

We decided to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant since I had seen that it received good reviews. It was very disappointing. The coffee was not great. We both ordered the American breakfast and it was ok. The toast came out cold for the both of us. The potatoes were flavorless. The overall breakfast choices were limited. During our 4 night stay we will not be eating here again. To be fair the later menu looked better and had more options.

I've been passing by this place for a while since I now live nearby and I finally had a chance to visit today- and I'm so glad that I did! I was really impressed by the selection of goods. Lots of diverse items; there was even kimchi, a large variety of ramen noodles (even varieties of the korean spicy chicken noodles!!), mochi, various Italian pastas, Indian spices, kombucha, alcohol, other groceries, cleaning supplies, and more. Apparently they're going to be stocking even more items in the near future. The person working at the register was nice and helpful, and the owner renovated recently and it's clean and organized inside. I saw a review regarding old products- all the items I saw were clearly marked with the expiration date and I never felt deceived. Some things are a bit pricier but personally for a smaller locally-owned market, I think it's completely understandable since they need to make ends meet. I will continue to support them and I highly recommend people check this market out if they're in the area. Seriously, support small businesses like this one and it'll only help them improve even more!

Service was the only 1/2 descent part of the meal! We started with 4 Caesar salads, which consisted of a big bowl of romaine lettuce with bread CRUMBS and hardly any tasteless dressing, We had to ask for more! It ranks as on of the worst ever. One person had the crab cake entry $32 and said it was mediocre at best, 2 people had Rainbow Trout, English Peas, Marcona Almonds, Crispy Potatoes, Pickled Ramps $30. The portion was pathetic, there were a few almonds and potatoes sitting on a small pea reduction - i never saw the ramps! And one person had pizza which didn’t measure up to Dominos. The barista didn’t even know how to make a descent cosmopolitan! The total bill, with 2 glasses of wine, one drink and the described food was $224. I live around the corner and my neighbors warned me the food was poor and the prices exceptionally high - I have now experienced it and will never return.

We ordered a number of dishes for take out - appetizers, entrees, desserts. All so great. Two of the four of us said it was down the best meal since the pandemic began. Wow! Such a treat. Will head back soon. We had wings and salmon for appetizers. So good. The wings tasted like or better than the best wings we ever had in Albany NY. The smoked salmon appetizer was so delicious too. The burger, braised ribs and trout were also great. Dessert we had the cheese plate and bread pudding. Also so good. We will be soon.

This review is based on two visits a week apart. First impression: friendly welcome, airy atmosphere, well-spaced tables. Menu: this is an Italian restaurant so the menu leans toward typical Italian choices plus pastas and pizzas. Drinks: a decent selection of wines and, my favorite, an excellent IPA on draft. Service: attentive but not intrusive. Price-range: in line for DC restaurants in the northwest quarter of the city. Sound level: a bit loud but not objectionable. Conversation was easy. I was there with friends both times and all found their meals excellent. The salads ware enormous; the pizzas (listed as singles) are more than sufficient for a single diner; the burgers generous. You will not leave hungry! There is no parking lot and street parking is chancy--this is DC. Would I return? Our group is seriously considering making Casolare a weekly event.

The mozzarella balls appetizer had no taste. One meal, veal scallopine, was ice cold. Cioppino was awful. Weird taste in it. Pork chop dish was ok, nothing to reorder. everything was spicy, but the spaghetti didn't advertise being spicy. So I ordered it. It burned my throat. They gave me a child's meal without spice. Just ok. The service was ok. I believe the girl was new and the service was slow but she was very nice. My daughter and her husband go there for the outside bar during good weather and they love it. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Delicious food and very family friendly! Excellent customer service! We especially enjoyed the pizza and the eggplant appetizer. Chicken parm was also terrific. All portions are generously sized.
