Yelp says it is "Open Now," 9pm. I drove 30 minutes to come here. It closes at 7:30pm. See pics.

Expensive. Barefoot wines should be $5.99 but instead they are $7.99. Giant is one block away and they carry Barefoot cheaper.

Racially profiled. Came into the store to buy something and the old white man working there never said a word to me... just watched me like an eagle. Super uncomfortable... felt like he was just waiting for me to steal something

Excellent service via phone. Happily Van Ness Wines does *not* participate in the cartel of DC-area liquor stores which all share the same website, same minimum order and same delivery fee. Go Van Ness -- thanks for reasonable prices and great service! Call in the DOJ and FTC for the others :)

Nice little liquor store, but I noticed the cashier wasn’t wearing a mask and didn’t bother putting one one when I went up to pay. He also didn’t check my ID, even though I’m young enough for him to have needed to ask me. The other employee had a mask around his neck. What’s the point if you don’t wear it over your mouth? Sorry, but I’m not going back there until they start doing the right thing.

The older gentleman who runs this liquor store is a great person. I used to walk my dog in the area and on occasion stop to purchase a 6 pack of beer for the weekend. On my first visit, I asked if my dog Lucy (a 65lb harmless but clumsy PitBull) could come in with me while I picked up my beer. He always welcomed Lucy with a treat and a positive attitude. I ended up purchasing way more beer than I could drink because he was so good to me and my dog.
