This is a much larger Giant than the one in my neighborhood. Interior is much more spacious with very wide aisles good for distancing. Big parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. This is also one of the main vaccine sites in SE. Came here twice when giving rides to people with vaccination appointments. The vaccine location in the bright "wellness space" room just inside the grocery store entrance. Appointments are well organized so never much of a line. After the vaccination there is a big area in front of the vaccination room with spaced apart chairs for people to sit on and wait out the required 15 minutes for safety before leaving.

This is has to be the worst Grocery store in the United States.I mean rude cashiers weed smell all in the entrance guys standing out front with no mask

I opted for ordering groceries through their app and then picking them up at the store and was severely disappointed. They were out of 6-7 items that I ordered, which I understand can happen but did mean that I still had to go to another grocery store to obtain those items. If this were the only issue I had, it honestly would not have been that big of a deal. However, once I got home, I realized that I was missing 10-15 items totaling over $50. I actually just realized I'm still missing avocados. Thus, I had to go back to the store to Customer Service where an attendant brought me my missing bags. The idea behind grocery pick-up is to save both time and minimize in-person interaction. Unfortunately, Giant's grocery pick-up was not successful at achieving either. Also, it would have been helpful to have directions about where to go to wait for pick-up in the confirmation email, as the garage is relatively dark and the signs are not super obvious. I'll be sticking with Amazon from now on.

It's so bad its funny!!!!!!!!! The shopping carts lock up all the time. They have a mechanism on the wheels and it only goes so far because they get stolen I guess. But I've been working outside the store(not gonna say what I do) and the carts lock up almost as soon as you leave the store. There is only one person who can unlock them!!! So pathetic. This is a ghetto are in DC and people get very angry when they lock up and have to waite until someone can unlock the wheels so you have to carry all your groceries the rest of the way!!!! Lol. I would be irate if I had to shop here!!! I've seen sooo many carts lock up all day today and had to post this. It's a real customer service issue!!!! SHAME ON GIANT

When Customer Service is great,you tend to ignore the distractions around you.. I just wanted to brag a little about my experience at the Giant on Alabama Ave SE. I started ( the vibe) off by saying Hello to the Cashier ( days are long, ppl just want to be recognized as more than a "Cashier" I know I did when I worked as one. So ,me being me,I casually started talking about food related stuff. Ms.Bunny (Cashier) and I started talking about what we like in our Oatmeal. She recommended a Cereal that she loves and I JUST SO Happen TO LOVE IT TOO #twinsies(Raisin Bran Crunch). We talked about Raisins,Almonds and all types of good stuff!! It was so fun Michelle was a ray of sunshine as well! They truly worked as a Team and showed exemplary Customer Service. They were patient,polite and made my visit one of the best ever in the MANY years that I've shopped there. Bring the energy you want in return,change the atmosphere. We have the Magic,we just have to use it. The worst. One of the the few grocers in this part of dc and the customer service and ridiculously long lines show it. I only come here in dire situations Bc I'd rather drive out if my neighborhood than deal with this. Your customers deserve better.

If there was another grocery store within a decent distance of my job I would NEVER come here. The prices are high and the product quality is poor. Combine that with terrible customer service and you have a recipe for disaster. I went to pick up some soup for lunch and a package of herbal tea. The soup station was out of medium bowls. When I asked for them at the deli, the staff member tried to get me assistance but was ignored 3 times before someone acknowledged him. They were completely out of the medium bowls. I took a small soup, a loaf of french bread, a package of dried cranberries and a box of team. These for items totaled almost $18. Ridiculous! Giant do better!

Zero stars if I could......horrible.....dropped of prescription was told 15 min wait ok no problem did grocery shopping went to pick up 30 min later still no prescription....waited in line 20 min to pay for my food still no prescription....but wait another 15 min....I say no its been an hour of waiting finally pharmacist says oh we thought we had that dose of meds but we don't....been over an hour for no prescription...still waiting...vegetables are always half rotten ...lines are always long ecpect to wait about an half hour to check out if possible just avoid at all cost!!!

Do not bother to call this Giant I have called the pharmacy several times no answer. I called customer service no answer. I called the meat department some lady answered and said let me page the pharmacy put me on hold and never came back. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
