I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough!! We stopped in for a night and from the time we entered to when we checked out. We were so impressed with the exceptional customer service and location of this hotel. Walking distance to the beach and yummy food. Also Richard at the Hotel, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and he deserves all the praise! I’d Definitely recommend booking here for your next stay in beautiful Fernandina Beach. 😁

This is a nice hotel for the price point. Rooms were cool and clean, just a little worn with scratches and paint off in a few places. They were however very quiet, which was nice. WiFi is a little spotty and sometimes did not work and if it did had low speeds. But again, for the price, this is acceptable. Our king bed room had a nice view of the ocean. The lady at the front desk did a great job and let us in our rooms early.
The breakfast was good with the gentleman who staffed it doing an excellent job keeping everything filled and the tables clean.
The location is only one block from the beach and they do rent chairs and umbrellas at the hotel. Fort Clinch is next door and town is only a five minute drive.
I would stay here again and recommend it to anybody.

Nice hotel..... Great location beside for clinch park..... Restaurants nearby seems like a very safe area and not far from downtown Fernandina

Dated. The safe was locked in our room and the front desk could not open it. Missing Do Not Disturb sign, asked for one and they did not have any. Two blocks from the beach.

No, Do Not Disturb signs.
And the room safe was locked and they did not know how to open it.
They had no change for the laundry room, and the machine with laundry soap and fabric softener was out of order.
The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable.

Carpet needed vacuuming. A small roach crawled around the coffee maker. Refrigerator needed defrosting. The first room they put us in had a terrible strong musty smell. Had to slam door to get it to lock on the outside. Someone else's hair was on the floor in the bathroom and also on the bedspread.

Impeccably clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast. We had a toilet flush issue and they came up and plunged it. This is not uncommon for coastal areas but they acted on it. The lights by the night tables didn’t work. Exceeded my expectations by a little overall and will book again.

For an older hotel, it is very well maintained, in my opinion. The rooms as well as the rest of the hotel are surprisingly very clean...A 5 min walk to the water. A Circle K right next door if you need anything... It comes with a complimentary breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cold cereal, and muffins... with coffee and juice... Staff was helpful and, at the same time, laid back... If you're just looking for a clean place to sleep and stay while you are enjoying the beach, I would highly recommend Surf and Sand...

Got stranded in front of the hotel with my electric car…ask the front desk clerk if I can use the charger was willing to pay for it clerk said no was even willing to buy a room and rooms are sold out… wasn’t asking for a hand out just needed to get enough charge to get home and clerk wouldn’t help because of policy but yet her husband is sitting in the hotel lobby and I’m pretty sure that’s against policy but what do I know Saturday evening 6:31 pm 07-12-2025
