I looked for the closest military surplus store and the CGX was the closest. I’m a veteran but not of the CG but thought it didn’t matter. As I walked through the door, I was confronted by the staff behind the counter asking me if I had my military ID, something indicating that I was retired or 20 years of service. I told him I carry my dd form 214 but apparently it wasn’t good enough for me to shop to support the cause. I was shocked as there was only one other customer in the store. As veterans, shouldn’t it be a place where we can shop and not be labeled by the amount of time we spent serving? Very disappointed!

The staff is very friendly and efficient.
I'm not sure why both my husband and I had to show our IDs.

It's really a blessing when the local community can maintain an exchange Is after the branches pulled out of the area.
Is maybe exchange Orlando still i Is serving coast guard exchange Fort Myers still serving.
My thanks to you for keeping this facility open for retirees.

This is a hidden gem for retired and active duty military in an area where a lot of veterans live and/spend their winters. It's small but carries a lot of items retirees are always looking for - including clothes, alcoholic beverages and mixers, and electronics, along with other things. They have fantastic end of year/holiday sale prices.
