I received a Funko pop figure for Christmas from this store. I already had purchased the same item from the same store weeks before. I went into the store (1/19/2023) with the intention to exchange for another pop I had seen recently. Upon walking into the store I met the owner who quickly addressed me. Right off the back his demeanour and body language was negative. This was unusual as I've spoken to him several times before and everytime was pleasant. On this occasion however he seemed very annoyed and upset. He asked me what I wanted aggressively while eyeballing ng the Funko pop. I explained why I was in the store but while explaining myself he hugged and shrugged and expressed a lot on annoyance with the situation. He took the pop figure from me and told me I could exchange for another of equal value and pointed vaguely to the area where they were located. The interaction was aggressive, rude, short. I couldn't tell if he thought I stole the item or if he had a problem with me. Maybe he was having personal issues this day. But watching him interact with other customers I don't think that was the case as he was cordial and friendly with them. I couldn't find a pop figure I wanted. I went back to the register and asked for the pop back. Without discussion he gave me a $10 store voucher instead, without discussion. Only commenting he was getting out of the pop business. I took the voucher, not wanting to engage but leaving wondering if it was equal to the value of the gift even though he told me the figures I could exchange for were $11.99. First off, this is an unacceptable unprofessional interaction with a customer. I choose to come to your small business and support you. I choose to give repeat business. There is a comic store a mile away I don't shop mostly for the reason it's a franchise and have always preferred the vibe of the smaller stores. If you are upset, having a bad day, questioning the authenticity of the purchase, have an issue with pop figures you don't pass that on to the customers. You don't make them feel small in front of others. Or piss them off to the point where they have to waste their time writing a review online. I don't want an apology. I don't want to give another chance to this store. I will not be shopping here again. Ever. I will take my business to mystic mountain on San Jose or cosmic comics on Old St Augustine. Warning, if you come here and the owner attempts to tell you how he's your friend. How cool he is. That he doesn't do this for the money. Etc. Consider that no matter what he has a lease. He borrows from a bank he owes to. This is a business. He needs you as a customer. He has the ability to give discounts and to help you, be polite. But he also has the right to do the exact opposite. Point being I went in there today assuming he was gonna be as easy and nice as normal. That like any business exchanging an item was a standard practice that would not be a problem. Or if there was a policy opposite that quickly informing me as such would be the end of it. But this bad attitude unprofessional crapping on the customer experience lost you business for good. Don't offer an explanation or ask to reach out. I'm not interested in discussing this further. Work on your customer service for the next time. Or if you disagree with this review feel free to lean on all your positive reviews.

Love the shop, friendly staff, not a stiff corporate store. Owner Ben wants you to keep coming back and have an enjoyable comic collecting experience. Down to earth spot with exclusives unique to Gotham City Limit.

Lots of modern toys and collectibles. Good selection of NEW comic books. Large selection of CGC graded books. Shop is most unorganized I've ever seen. TONS of Modern back issues. Not many older comics. However most Modern back issues are stuffed in boxes with no bag and board. Lots of them are damaged with spine ticks. Hard to reach some of the bins to look for certain comics. If you are looking for a specific modern back issue, you'll probably find 5 or more of them here. Would love to see the comics in this shop cleaned up one day.

This is the best comic store in Jacksonville! They have an amazing selection for new comics (back issues not so much but whatever). They almost always have whatever newer comic I'm looking for even if it's hot or a spec book. Ben K is incapable of being in a bad mood. He is forever energetic, enthusiastic and goes above and beyond to help! Pacer, the Amazing Shop Dog is an absolute pleasure to be around. I love to give his friendly head a scratch whenever he comes around. Ben runs sales for all of the comic book holidays and regular holidays. He makes the place fun! His staff is always fantastic as well! I moved away a couple months ago but still order stuff from Gotham through the mail. If you are a comic fan in Jax, this is where you go to get your pulls!

Omgoodness I stopped here on the way home from a road trip and was so happy I did!!! It was black Friday and I've never been to a comic shop on Black Friday but I sure won't miss it again. I found so much good stuff and got so many incredible deals on them. Found a new to me product that neither of my local shops even offer. The comic book tags. It's a neat concept so I got one. Definitely collectible but nothing beats the books. I spent over a hundred and they gave me a gift card from 25 bucks to spend! I'll definitely be making the trip back to spend that. It's cozy and stacked! Very fun to dig through but lots was on display. They even had a huge selection of $1 Funko pops ?. I loved it and will definitely be visiting again as often as possible ❤️

Being new to the comic world, I have found this shop to be very helpful and friendly. Everyone is polite and nice and are willing to answer even my newbie questions. On several occasions I have asked about back copies that I was missing and the staff went digging into the boxes to find the issues. This is now my weekly LCS for new books on Wednesdays. Very cool place!!!

used to come here and thought this was a really nice comic store but i asked about hiring and stuff and the owner rudely came at me of how i interrupted and i apologized so i waited and still didn't get helped. i didn't want to ask again or be told i was interrupting again. im autistic too so it just felt a little...i said i apologized and waited until the customer was done with the owner but i felt like i didn't wanna be a nuisance anymore like you didn't have to be rude about it cause i wasn't rude to you or demanding you to hire me. didn't acknowledge me after i waited for the customer to be helped with but went to go check out another customer so i just felt like i'll just not come back here then if it was a bother ?

The gentleman behind the counter is very helpful. I grabbed two Simpsons Funko pops for only five bucks each. It was a very sweet deal. I'm not even sure if I have them in my collection already or not LOL. But at that price you just can't pass it up even if there's a possibility of might be a duplicate lol

Gotham City Limit is one of the best places for comics in the duval area. I've been to other comic books stores in the area and they are great but Gotham City Limit always great vibes and really care about their 1st time customer and regulars. I always recommend people to come check it out. Even the dog lovers should visit the #1 employee there PACER!! He is the sweetest pup ?
