I was introduced to Hodges - Josberger Funeral Home after my mom passed. They were just amazing and so helpful. I had a major issue with a scumbag brother and he delayed her cremation for almost 8 months!!! And this funeral home was so great throughout this process. I would like to thank them so much for taking such great care of my mom!!! Dennis has an amazing ability to comfort you in a terrible time with great empathy and compassion. Hodges is very lucky to have someone like Dennis.

Our family cannot recommend Dennis Sparks and team highly enough. Everything about the experience was expertly handled with grace and caring. In particular, the unique memorabilia display reflecting my father’s life was beautifully done and is a memory we will treasure forever. Thank you for making a difficult time in our lives such a personalized, caring experience.

I can’t thank Dennis and everyone at Hodges enough for everything they did to honor my father’s memory. When we first met with Dennis, he spent so much of his time explaining all of the options and steps for funeral arrangements. We were new to this and Dennis held our hand every step of the way. From choosing burial vs cremation to picking the music and prayer cards, Dennis paid attention to every detail. One of the sources of comfort for my family was that his funeral was as comforting as could be possible. Thank you to Dennis for literally holding our hand every step of the way.

My family had purchased services with Hodges prior to need. When the time came to need their services everything went smoothly as all the arrangements were Lready made. Unfortunately had to have service for my father and then 6 months later for my mother. We could not have been happier with what Hodges did for the service and my family

I contacted Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home from the hospital as soon as I knew my husband's death was imminent and their response was immediate. They took care of the body, kept him in refrigeration and arranged for the cremation without needing to contact me after the initial phone call and personal meeting with the director. They took care of informing Social Security as well as the insurance companies. It was a relief not to worry about that.

Dennis made this painful moment extremely easy. He thought of every detail and ensured the funeral service went smoothly. He even had a bag to ensure my father's Burial flag did not get dirty.

The caring and compassion I was given from the first contact was so comforting. Every step along the way, Dennis Sparks made me feel I wasn't alone. All my options were presented in a way that I truly feel that, with his help and guidance, I was able to provide the Celebration of Life my husband would have wanted. Dennis and his entire team were there for me and were always so understanding and helpful. We are truly lucky to have him here on Marco Island.

PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS!! Today marks one year that my dear mother-in-law passed away. This past year has been very difficult as we miss her terribly but I still find myself more angry and disappointed and just want to make sure no one else ever has to go through an experience like this. For this reason I feel I need to share our unimaginable story. Our family entrusted Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home with the sacred duty of handling the final arrangements for my mother-in-law hoping this would be done with dignity, respect and the utmost care. Dennis was very professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. Tragically, this final act of love did not go as planned. My mother-in-laws final resting place was to be in Pennsylvania with Hodges-Josbergerhandling the arrangements. While making our drive to PA we received a heart wrenching phone call from the receiving funeral home stating that the remains they received did not match the pictures we provided them. This misidentification of her remains left even a bigger hole in our hearts and many unanswered questions. Immediately my husband called Dennis, who eventually confirmed that my mother-in-laws remains were indeed still in Florida. Needless to say they tried to right their wrong and scrambled to drive her remains to Pennsylvania arriving just in time for her viewing, but not in enough time for the receiving funeral home to properly prepare her like she should have been. See, my dad was a funeral director with his own establishment so I know first hand about this process, how important it is to loved ones and the meticulous attention to detail. Never in a million years did I think something like this could or would happen. Likewise, I also feel sorry for the remains and family of Minerva Labelle McGinnis who made an unnecessary and unwanted trip to PA. On this one year anniversary of her death I wanted to purchase the Timeless Touch finger print necklace for my three daughters and my niece but this ordeal makes me question if it’s really her fingerprint! I’m hoping after this incident Hodges-Josberger has implemented improved protocols and training to ensure accuracy and prevent this from ever happening again! To anyone reading make sure they check and double check. The loss of a loved one is a profound and painful experience no one should have to experience this added stress.

Words cannot sufficiently express our gratitude to Dennis and Liz at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home. From the moment we met, they handled every detail of our mother’s passing and burial with genuine compassion and professionalism. Dennis respectfully listened to and answered all our questions and was a wealth of resources and helpful advice. It is comforting to know that such a high level of service, honesty, and compassion remains available in today’s business world.
