TL:DR: James knows his stuff, and if he can't solve your data recovery issue, I don't think it can be fixed. Go here!
Longer Review:
My Issue: Turned a drive with 20 years' worth of stuff into a Windows Recovery Disk. Ouch, I know.
I tried paid data recovery software and more, but no luck.
Finally contacted James.
Solution: James worked his magic with his tools.
PRO-TIP: Be patient—James is a one man band, so when you drop your drive off, please remember that he has many other people to help and that he takes house-calls. Expect about a month turnaround for your recovery, but trust me: the wait is worth it!
As far as I can tell, all my data has been found! James was a huge help and I recommend him if you need data recovered or even a computer built. He's very knowledgeable and I'll be back soon for my tech needs.
BONUS: You might even consider stopping by just to get a look at this monster computer he built with his son. Attaching pics for my fellow computer-build nerds!
Thanks again, James! ✌️ Back up the back-up drive, friends!

James at Data Rescue has gone above and beyond in his service.
In multiple jobs across a few different devices he has always found the solution to the problem and procured the best value parts keeping his service costs very reasonable.
I had my wife's iPhone screen replaced. Less than a year later it went bad. James honored the warranty without question, paid extra to get the new screen shipped next day, and worked on Sunday to make sure she had it for work Monday morning. All with out charge.
Hard to find small businesses that have both the will and ability to provide this level of service.

James has always done an excellent job for my business and personal computer systems! He set up my business computer system a couple of years ago anytime I needed assistance he has come very quickly to fix it. He has helped my husband transfer information from his old laptop to a new one. James is very knowledgeable and helpful and his prices are reasonable.

IMO, STAY AWAY!- When I contested an unneccassary charge, heres what happened imo- (I look out for my mom in this neighborhood, and we look to dodge businesses who we believe act like this-> like money shouldnt matter to old rich people around here, charging for anything they can think up as "convenience")-> I had a laptop that wasn't charging. When I brought it in to this shop, the owner pointed out that a second chord could work, as their is a secondary power source, and it might be better. I thanked him, and NATURALLY, asked him if I could buy the part grom him. Instead of selling me the part, heres what he did--> He took my laptop as a "requirement" and tacked on a $59 service fee instead of simply selling me the chord- this is a lie in the real world, there is no "required" service in this situation, just check with ANY OTHER competing business (which I will be doing from now on). He could've just sold me the part. Instead, he took the laptop overnight, claiming to "check under the hood"... he didn't fix the original port. I naturally had every intention of challenging the top cost of $84 when he could've sold me the part for $25, as quoted. HERES THE WORST PART- Instead of shying away from his poor business, I asked him why he is charging me $84 when he coupdve just sold me the part for $25 yesterday. Within 5 seconds, because I wouldn't play along, he NOT ONLY escalated the conflict, he KEPT THE PART! Not sure if he was just upset or if he could make more money keeping it somehow. Naturally, he didnt send my $59 back. If he does, I will 100% come back and update that atleast he refunded. I will be warning every person who lives around my mother, who lives in an area SWARMING with businesses always looking to do charges like this. OVERCHARGED. Stay away.

Took my IPAD that died (would not charge even) to see what was the matter. Left it and paid $59 to James (a new owner) for the evaluation. I called him the next week to see what he knew. Said it was not charging and he did not know what was wrong (I already knew that of course). He said I could try a new battery but he did not know if that was the actual problem. I sent my husband in to pick it up for me because I did not want to go any further as the problem was not diagnosed beyond what I already knew. My husband asked James what he did to test it and he flew off the handle at my husband because he asked that question. Legit question if you ask me. The owner told my husband "to get the F out"and said he was calling the police and picked up his phone to do so. Not a nice way to treat a paying customer. He could have just answered the question nicely. Apparently he took great offense to his work simply being questioned. Of course, won't go back there. Oh, and P.S. took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy. Problem was resolved in two minutes and they did not charge me a nickel. Now if it was that simple a fix why did the Data Doctor not know what to do. Ripped me off for $59.
