The CVS store I shop at here in Nokomis FL., #3318 is wonderful. A large store that is always clean, well stocked, and is bright and the aisle displays are set up perfectly with either a sale table or 2 or an idea for products that are in time with the calendar. And the deals, like the BOGO or, buy 1 and the 2nd is 50%, are really valuable because you can save a lot while there and save a trip.

Already decided to pull my business the second I found out you cannot call and speak to a pharmacist. I can call Walgreens and be connected with a pharmacist in less than 2 minutes. Being put on a call back list for a damn pharmacy is an absolute joke and I called the main store to beg to be connected and home girl was like nah I can’t walk to the back it’s too hard. Anywho,
CVS PHARMACY HAS DISSOLVED AND ROLLED BACK ON DEI. WALGREENS HAS NOT. DDD(:

To all parents of children with chronic illnesses requiring medication, be cautious of the CVS pharmacist Heather Hogan in Nokomis!
My daughter, who has epilepsy, was due for her prescription refill tomorrow. Her last refill was on 5/1/24, and she has five refills left, which means she should get her next dose tomorrow. She is down to her last pill today and will run out by tomorrow morning. For those familiar with seizure medications, you know they cannot be missed and must be taken at the same time every day.
Today, I tried to refill her prescription but faced animosity and refusal from Heather Hogan, who insisted it couldn’t be filled one day early. According to her, we last filled the prescription on 5/5/24, not 5/1/24, making us ineligible for a refill until Monday. Despite the medication being for seizures and not typically prone to abuse, she refused to budge.
We attempted to resolve the issue in person after being denied at the drive-thru. Even after my daughter’s doctor called to insist on the refill for my daughter’s safety, Heather Hogan continued to refuse, accusing the neurologist and his office of violating the DEA regulations by sending in too many prescriptions. Despite efforts from my husband, myself, the doctor’s staff, and the doctor himself, we were continually cut off with snarky remarks such as, “I know, I’m a pharmacist.”
My worried husband pleaded with them not to leave our daughter without her medication. We pointed out the discrepancy in dates and offered to show the bottle, which she refused to see. As a concerned and frustrated mom, I am sharing this because this happens to us every month.
In the video I took of the incident, she can be heard giving a fake name, “Sarah.” After I stopped filming, she became more agitated and even called me derogatory names. Witnesses were present, and I hope CVS cameras caught this as well. The doctor’s office and I are filing formal complaints with her board and CVS corporate.
Anyone with a child on epilepsy medication knows they cannot skip a dose. I was panicking and was not being heard, and you can see in the video, she accuses me of going over the counter, which I did not do. She then threatened to call the police when I asked for her last name and NPI. She starts off nasty, interrupting me when I say I have questions, with “it’s not due,” disregarding the date discrepancy.
Sharing this to prevent others from experiencing the same ordeal. Heather Hogan should not be dispensing medication, as she is abusing her power by withholding life-saving medication, even for children. Spread the word and spare another family from this cruel behavior.
