I made a reservation for a full size car for sunday may 30 2021 from Columbia airport in Columbia, sc and returned in Parkersburg, wv on may 31 2021. At the counter in Columbia I was informed there wasn't any full size vehicles therefore I had to accept a compact. There wasn't any price adjustment offered just the bad news. There wasn't a bad excuse just bad news. I'm a "full size" man 6' 3" 250 pounds. I don't fit well in a compact. This is unacceptable and I am still very upset about this and I expect so much more from a company that is so large and well known. Not to mention I find out at the counter that my charge card will be charged an additional $200.00 for several days. As of this post (06/14/2021) it's been 15 days and counting. I'm sure all of the above is probably written in the small print and I'm sure I will hear excuses about "holiday rush" and "COVID" and "understaffed" etc............ I am so disappointed. I work at a power plant providing electricity to the country. What if we told our customers "sorry, we don't have 120 volts today even though you expect and pay for 120 volts, we will substitute that 120 volts with 80 volts and also we will hold an additional charge of $200.00 on your bill for several days". Is this a common practice of Hertz? Is this what I am going to post on Facebook, Yelp, better business, consumer news, etc? By the way I'm not making this up, here is my confirmation # J77344231E5 Sincerely disappointed and still frustrated, After reading more complaints on Hertz FB there is a generic customer service statement....... "Hi Sam, we would love to look into this for you. Can you please send us a message with your issue, the name of the primary renter, and your reservation number? The reservation number we need begins with a J or H. Please send here: m.me/Hertz -Kay " What a joke. Samuel Stephens

I want to add another review for documentation that this location does not exist. I arrived with two children in tow after 12 hours of travel. I took a $50 cab ride from the airport only to discover this location closed a few months ago (per the hotel workers.) I spoke with 1-800 Hertz who said they changed my reservation to the airport location. I Taxi'ed back the airport and they said they have no record of the change in the computer. They finally honored my reservation but acted as though I was crazy and the Hertz is open on International Dr. I suggest they make a drive to see it is indeed, closed!!

We made a reservation a month ago to pick up a car today. When we arrived there was no one there. The sign said they closed for unforeseen circumstances? There were at least 5 other families standing around there trying to figure out what to do. When I called the 1-800 number the representative told me that she had no idea why the location was closed but she was sorry because there were no vehicles available in the Orlando área.I talked to the valet at the hotel and he said that they have called numerous times to tell Hertz to take the location off of the Hertz website. He said that between 25-30 families have the same experience each week.It is unprofessional and there should be something done to make this right. We live in a society with so much technology you would think that Hertz could update their website and send a message if a location is closed.I will never use Hertz again!

We booked a 6 passenger vehicle 2 months ago. When my husband arrived at the drop off location through UBER, there wasn't even a Hertz there. He had to walk over a mile to the actual location. When he got there, they told him they had no vehicles for him. They called around and still no vehicles. This is ridiculous. My husband THEN had to wait an hour for an UBER to bring him back to the hotel. Why allow someone to rent a vehicle 2 months on advance if you're not going to make sure you have one available!!!

Mike is an amazing representative for your company! Outstanding service and he exceeded our expectations with the car we rented. Will definitely rent again!

We reserved a car online but the staff told us that the car was not available until someone return the car. That’s quite ridiculous that the online reservation cannot make it and the website didn’t tell anything about this to inform the customers. And the staff was so slow, talking to others for a long time and we waited for a long time as well. She didn’t know much about the insurance which surprised us. She is not a good worker at all. Anyway, it’s quite a bad experience.

I’m so unsatisfied with this experience. We made the reservation the day before picking up, however when we arrived, they told us there was no car available! And the attitude of that girl in the front desk is so bad and didn’t give any advice. I’m so angry now and one even zero star for sure. So ridiculous!

This location DOES.NOT have a Hertz rental location despite it being listed as such on the website and on the confirmation email. Frankly, I should have known better as a loyal Enterprise client. Customer service keeps telling me that it is unfortunate and there is nothing they can do. They even gave me a local number to call and it says “they are not taking calls at this time”. I spent $16 with Lyft to get to this location and now they tell me I need to go to Orlando International Airport to pick up a car. What kind of company is this? They have failed to have the proper protocols to ensure they can generate a “happy customer” and now instead they get another horrible review on Google from what could have been a future loyal customer. And on top of it, now I’m going to be late to my business meeting.

I rented a car the first day I noticed a few ants, I didn't really pay it any attention, but the next day I had coffee & left the cup in the car, when I got back in, there were ants all in the cup holder. I called Hertz on west colonial and told them about the ants and asked if could exchange the car, they said it was my responsibility to get the ants out or I would be charged a cleaning fee. Definitely the worst customer service but not only the ants, the car in itself needed to be washed and cleaned better on the inside. This was a rental through State Farm, so I'll let them handle this issue and hopefully they will put me with another rental company.

This isn't a Hertz, it's a building site! After wheeling our heavy luggage through the street miles in the humid Orlando heat, wandering around trying to find the Hertz location which we had made the booking only 1 month ago, through Hertz directly... We were absolutely shocked when we realised the location no longer a Hertz, and this was never communicated to us. After finally wheeling our heavy luggage to a nearby Hertz, which has no signage out the front so was a puzzle to find, we are now super late and there is an enormous que with only one staff member servicing multiple car rental companies... Guess we can cancel our plans then....You would think the least they could do is send us an email saying we've moved locations and you will now pick up from xxx adress... I will never use Hertz ever again, and will be telling everyone I know never to use them... PS. We travelled here from Australia for our 10 year anniversary, the plan was to drive to Miami airport...
