Was in the need for some rocks for my garden and saw this place on my drive to work. Stopped in and was greeted by the owner, Brett. He was very knowledgeable and had all the supplies I needed for my project. I recommend anyone who needs any landscape supplies to shop here!

WARNING - Do NOT buy any bulk materials from this guy!! He claims to have a 1 yard bucket on his machine, however, he put three "scoops" in my 4 yard dump trailer - when I leveled the rock out and measured it, it was only 1.5 CY - the bucket is only a 1/2 CY bucket - when I called him on it, he got irate and hung up on me. See pics below.

We went there to get a few bags of sand and concrete. They were pleasant and we had no problems or complaints.

Bought 1"yard" of rock. Appeared to be less than the 1 yard I purchased at another business. Compare bucket size with other establishments.

Went to Keystone Rock in Port Charlotte to get a yard of sand. The guy gave me a half scoop and said it was a yard. I said it looked way short. The guy started cursing and said it was a yard. I got home and shoveled it into a Lowes 9cf bag and it just filled it. This was a 1\3 of a yard not a 27cf yard. Big rip off. I will never go there again.

Prices are about same as everywhere else, maybe a bit higher. But their qubic yard is a joke. If your buying stuff in bulk, I recommend you go elsewhere.

A very disappointing encounter this morning with the foul-mouthed man on duty, yelling that he was doing me a favor while trying to charge me $400 per cubic yard for crimson rock that is supposed to cost $165 per cubic yard because I wanted to measure it out and load it up myself in five-gallon buckets. (This should only matter to a person who's in the business of loading and delivering well short of a cubic yard when he gets to do it himself.) Shouts that he's the cheapest around, even though the prices at Murdock Rock Supply and J. A. Lynch are actually lower (facts don't matter to this man, though). Go elsewhere for anything approaching professional and courteous service.
