There's a lot of history here! Great visit, just wish we were able to do some of the after hours activities, but we were limited on time and some of the activities weren't available the day we were there, I think due to the season.
Another thing I may add is parents, please be aware of your children. Kids running up the stairs, going around people, and being loud in the lighthouse was disruptive to other people's visit and also dangerous should one of them have slipped.

I'm a sucker for black and white stripped lighthouses, and I finally got to check this one off the list! The climb is doable, plenty of platforms to take a break on your way up, or challenge yourself and hoof it straight up. The views of St Augustine are beautiful when you get to the top- be sure to take in the views from all the windows!
While there, explore the nature trails and museum - so much history to uncover and clean before hitting the beach with your sunnies!

We climbed the 219 steps to the top and walked around the outside deck. The stairs are a bit wider and easier to navigate than some we’ve toured. There are several good sized landings, some with windows where you can catch your breath and enjoy the view on the trip up. We also toured the keepers house but didn’t take in the other outbuildings. It seemed pretty crowded for a weekday in February and the parking lot was nearly full.

It's so beautiful 😍 very well maintained grounds, the lighthouse stairs are difficult to climb, but if you make it to the top, the view is spectacular!!! It's worth it.

The lighthouse is the main attraction. It will test your legs and heart to walk up the 219 steps, but the view from the top is worth it. Lots of history is given about the lighthouse as you walk. Also, there are additional maritime museum areas around the lighthouse that are included with your admission fee.

One of the main attractions in St Augustine, and once you get to the top. You can't help but marvel at the architecture. Also you realize you are a long ways up lol.
